The Westerland is an absolute stunner Guy , congrats . That is a watch I have been looking at myself , and the Dortmund . I believe these are accurate , they do use the ETA 2801 Elabore *, which is an accurate work horse . Looking forward to some pics of it on the wrist . I'm very pleased for you Guy , a fantastic choice . :D

Ok then Guy, that’s a Laco for the German hand cranker. A Dodane for French Quartz (planned) and a Matwatches AG5 Legion tactical chrono for another French Quartz.

A good mornings work.

I imagine that many of us have gone out and returned with a speculative or spontaneous watch purchase, however planned, speculative and spontaneous in one hit is going some! :)

Top notch Nigel, you got in first with the suggestion of an MAT Watches watch.

@nbg, @Smegwina - close Neil but Nick is correct. I posted about the Regatta Timer in the 'dreaming' thread last week.

On the basis of my known likings for Tactical / Military watches I understand your choice, particularly as I have no affinity for Yachting, no affiliation to the French America Cup team and, outside of sailing, who on earth needs a watch on which the Chrono initially counts back got ten minutes and then goes forward for up to 30 hours.

I just like the size and colourway of it, quite similar to my Magrette MPP Kara, and think the Chrono is cool. Plus it was ex-photos watch so bought at a discount.

Spot on Patrick. Type 23 quartz with bracelet and genuine Alligator strap.

I'd been thinking of this since the end of last year, saw it a few days and ordered it the day before Sue died. It is my planned purchase and will be a memorable watch.

Everything apart from the movement, is made in Besançon, with the Alligator strap being made a short distance from Dodane's workshop, by a company that mainly makes handbags and other leather goods.

It's on the bracelet, which needs sizing but it is a fabulous piece with some lovely individual features.

^^^that Dodane looks great. I remember we discussed it a month or two ago and remarked on the Elite-like colour scheme. It's a really stylish and individual looking watch

Interesting technical info Bernie; thanks. The Dortmund would be my Type B choice but I'm more than happy to get a Type A.

Movement is stated as the Laco 01, but guess its got to be based on something else with (likely?) modifications.

Your knowledge on this is way more encyclopedic than mine.

I must admit that website photos are pretty underwhelming but in the flesh its great and, moreover, I though it was about time that I got a bronze watch.
