Re: Beater
Certainly have.
It's not me though. And it's that Q word again!
For 200-300 depending on the version, there are other watches would leap to the front of the queue.
The other thing is that my strategy with watch buying is to make sure that I can always get my money back on a purchase. So used top brand watches with full documentation, at a keen price, are top of my list, nearly-new and well cared for CWLs, and other good brands in good condition. Whilst watches like the Festina may have immediate appeal today, I wouldn't be confident of them retaining much of their value in the future.
Even for a beater, I reckon I can find something that will retain resale value, even with a hard life, wear and damage.
It's like a Top Gear Challenge!

Nothing else is like a Top Gear Challenge; they're so incredibly stupid, but entertaining.Richard B wrote:

Can't think though of an analagy to your predicament.

Is that irony or confusion/bewilderment Guy?

Definitely not irony; I meant what I said (wrote). I can't work out how to describe your predicament.Richard B wrote:Is that irony or confusion/bewilderment Guy?

Re: Beater
I suppose "ridiculous" is a good starting point.
I want a great looking automatic watch to use as a beater and for adventure sports, which has to be good quality, cost next to nothing and retain its value no matter what abuse it's put through.
Yep, I think "ridiculous" captures it!

Agreed! that was always option 2 !v8power wrote:You just said "used Seamaster 300M" with this words
Although the "cost next to nothing" doesn't quite fit. Not within my means, anyway!
