Back from Service

Post by Kip »

I just recieved this back from service after 10 months.

Excuse the dirt...photos right out of the box.

A Poljot Limited Edition, manual wind 31679 25 jewel chronograph movement with date and moonphase. I don't know how old it is or anything else about it except it is a true Russian version.

Notice the clever design of hiding the date behind the chrono second hand.

It was given to me because it did not work. The gentleman said if you get it fixed you can keep it. It seemed worth it and since I couldn't fix it I sent it out. 10 months and $100 bucks later ...here it is.

Anyone want to complain about repair times?

I agree it is $100 well spent. Very unusual piece - great.

Having to start the chrono to read the date is a little eccentric isn't it... :)

Classy in a uniquely Russian way.

I get the impression most Poljot watches are Limited Editions - I have 2 and they're both nnn/999. If a Poljot on eBay catches my eye it invariably has nnn/999 or nnn/500 on the back. That said, yours looks quite unusual to me. Certainly worth that $100 investment.

I like the milled edge. Is it a moonphase or just day/night?

Amazing design. I only every want to know the date when I am timing things. Pefect.

Th coin bezel is what first caught my eye when I saw this. Reminded of a Chronoswiss. It is a true moonphase which I find a bit unusual for a manual wind. I also think it is very clever to keep the date hidden from nosey people... or perhaps you are right in that we only need to know the date when we are timing things.

That's quite unusual, and I like it :)

The date/chrono hand design is pure genius too 8)

$100 well spent I'd say :)

And 10 months to get it fixed..........the mind boggles :irre3: but saying that, it's taken Ebel nearly 3 months to decide to charge me for a new strap, that'll take up to another month to come as they're out of stock :schockiert:

Remind me why we do this??????? :ka:

Going through some old notes I found I had dated this watch from 1995 although I don't know where I found the info.

Very funny about the service center. It actually was sent to a facility in Connecticut. They were always pleasant and always in touch...just sloooooooooooooooooooow. I found the overhaul price exceptionally reasonable though. They even through in a new strap to pacify me. It didn't cost them much but it was a nice gesture.
