StrapMeister,

I know it is probably a trick of the light but the photo of the watch face you posted yesterday evening seems to show the numerals with a strong yellow tinge and the dial being off cream but tonights photos, particularly the last one on your wrist, that yellow tinge is absent to my eye.

It not a criticism but it means that there is probably more depth to watch face and that it will change colour in various light conditions.

How is the finish and is the strap softer than it looks in the photos?

I'd say that the first 2 pics that I posted this evening are more what the watch actually looks like, that is, an off-white/cream dial and almost a yellowy/beige colour for the numerals.
....the light can be deceptive and I'm certainly no photographer!

The strap itself is very thick and stiff - it'll take some wearing in, however, in true StrapMeister fashion I've changed the strap and here's a couple more pictures:

I apologise for the :silent: pictures

That's a nice looking watch, probably the pick of the new release colours to me. The sapphire crystal is a worthwhile addition compared to most of their earlier watches.

Any thoughts a week after @strapmeister? I'm curious about the performance & comfort. AV-8 has popped on my Instagram feed today. I haven't heard about this brand before. Very nice looking watches, and extremely affordable. I'm thought I prefer the 1940's but looking at your pics I'm not too sure. I literally just got invoiced for my Borealis Santa Cruz (type B), so I need to give my wallet a break otherwise I was going to pull the trigger for an AV-8.

So, it appears to be keeping very good time albeit I don't have a timegrapher to test it properly.
I find it a nice size and weight plus it's very comfortable to wear.
I could go on about the sapphire crystal glass, textured dial and raised numbering providing a great contrast and depth, however, I would strongly recommend reading Josh's' review here:

It was his review that convinced me to purchase one
...and very happy I am too :D

Thanks for the prompt reply mate, I will definitely check the review out. I believe the important think is that you still are happy with it.

Thanks!

I also did a review and linked it the AVI-8 Facebook page and got a 20% discount code for my next purchase :D

I rather like of the FLYBOY CENTENARY 1920s (AV-4058-03) but historically I don't seem to get on with black cased watches so I'm going to wait until the release of the 1960s and 1980s models in Q2 2018.
