Arbutus New York

Post by flashman »

Anyone heard of these before? I found their website a couple of days ago. Cheap autos, asian movements. One or two interesting designs. I checked them out on timezone and found they've got somewhat mixed reviews.

I've heard of them. Apparently they're quite attractive.

Funnily enough, I was looking at these on Ebay last night!!

I dont know anything about them, but some of the watches look alright, and are worthy of further scrutiny

That's a bit of a coincidence, Monkey! :) I did a bit more snooping and found they're stocked on Amazon, with more designs than are shown on the Arbutus website. Two that stand out are the "Perenial" which is a 43mm sports model and the "Propeller" at 40mm; definitely worthy of further scrutiny as you say. They look pretty good; some nice tonneau designs as well. Seems to be a similar business model to CW in some respects; only draw backs I can see is asian movement (unspecified) as opposed to swiss and only a 1 or 2 year warranty. Same 316l SS is used. Need to get a bit of feedback from owners though so I'll continue snooping...

I been looking on E bay at these watches.
If you can pick them up at £50 to £60 a pop it's doesn't seem like a bad deal to me.
Quite nice looking watches but obviously not many if any private sellers and seems to be one main seller.
If CW ever gives me a chance to acquire some lose change i may well have a punt
