@timepieces_and_bags Wow, that P&J is just beautiful, and yet another brand I knew nothing about. Just been looking over the brand, what a fascinating ethos they have. They put huge stock in being 100% Swiss and not just meeting the 60% Swiss manufacturing and components needed to be able to put Swiss made on the dial. You are getting a genuine Swiss watch down to even the straps and box, all sourced and made within a 70KM radius. You would imagine this all comes at a crazy price, but the watches are very competitively priced. I love the display caseback, too. Stunning and unique all round, congratulations.

Re: (Another) New Watch Day
It’s an automatic Guy. I may ask them a bit more about the movement; it’s listed on their website just as a PJ1 but I’m pretty certain it’s not in-house given their production levels and price. Likely at most a modified third-party movement, but I haven’t found more details yet.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 9:50 am The P&J looks amazing, Michael. Top notch.
Hand wound I take it, and the strap has a real artisan look to it.

The straps are great. The one shown is sturgeon. The black, which I may try later today, is a deer leather.
They’ve tried to keep everything very Swiss, down to the wood on the box. So it’s a nice brand philosophy to go with the watch too.

I replied to Guy before I read your comment AVO - great minds! I’ll post more if I find out more.Amor Vincit Omnia wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 10:02 am It looks superb. I believe it’s an automatic, and the calibre reference is PJ1. I’d be interested to know more about the movement: is it developed from an ébauche or completely in-house?

Re: (Another) New Watch Day
Thanks also @Redpat and @strapline. I didn’t really know much about them either. Definitely a fairly new company (I’m customer number 28) and the only reason I found out about them was because they were present at Windup in NYC in October.
It coincided with my Search for a dress watch and the size, styling and price point ticked pretty much every box I was after.
Had I not done my research in advance I probably would have walked right past the stand given how many brands were represented there. The family running the company were also very friendly and charming. So I’m chuffed all round that it worked out,

Strange I cant find anything regarding P&J watches (reviews etc) other than a historical connection with Glycine, where did you find it?
The most noticeable thing being that it looks very similar to a Felipe Pikulik watch, hands look quite similar.

I’d thought a little the same on your last point when you mentioned FP to me before Robert. Wasn’t quite sure on the lugs with FP though.
As mentioned above, I only found out about them through presence at the Windup NYC fair.

Love that P&J. Don’t love that I love it but would have to sell something and I’m struggling with that at the moment

Looking at the caseback I wonder if its a heavily decorated Selita movement?timepieces_and_bags wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 12:05 pmI’d thought a little the same on your last point when you mentioned FP to me before Robert. Wasn’t quite sure on the lugs with FP though.

Love the Pinion watch you have, I had one of their older versions with a Japanese movement. I moved it on because of the brushed case finish that I think he used on all their watches, I just find they show up marks too easily and end up looking battered they only really look good on military looking watches. Yours seems to be a polished finish, have considered buying another Pinion watch quite a few times.

PJ1 movement information: “We work with a ETA 2895 élaboré - with our own rotor decoration.”

Re: (Another) New Watch Day
Small update - I’ve been loving the PJ1 a lot and had also been taken by another dial color. Given their limited production numbers and desire to land a specific number, I went for it probably a little earlier than I initially planned. But here is the PJ1 Blue dial on light brown deer leather strap.
