This piece has led a very sheltered existance or someone did a remarkable restoration. Either way...gorgeous!

I have a 1958 edition, with a date, in original condition. Enjoy...it's a keeper!

Lovely looking watch Bjorn  and even nicer that it's not an 'obvious' watch brand, which makes it all the better in my book :D

It is in very clean condition aswell, so possibly a restoration.....the edges on the case look a little rounded, so it's probably been polished at some point, but even so, super watch :)

Do you have a piccy of the movement??

A micro rotor. That is the first time I have seen one of those. Very dinky.

Thanks. The challenge is, of course, to find a specimen that looks good after 40 - 50 odd years...

Beautiful watch, never heard of this brand before. :D
No more Quartz (except when I cannot resist).

Wis,
I wonder if the watch is even older than you think.
In my copy of "Wristwatches" by Brunner and Pfeiffer-Belli there is a picture of an almost identical watch.
It is dated to 1950!

Same:
- case,
- cross-hair dial,
- hand set,
- gold hour track,
- Cal 215/9 28j movement.
- "U" and all wording in top section.
- wording in lower section
Different:
- additional line of wording in top section "DE LUXE"
- additional line of writing in lower section "MICROROTOR"
- no minute track or lume dots

Odd. My main source (www.polerouter.de) is adamant that the Polarouter came in 1954, and the Polerouter in 1955. The 215 movement also came along in 1955, if my sources are to be believed.
I guess we should ask Universal Geneve :D .

Google insists on 1955 as you say. I suspect that my book should say '1950s' rather '1950'.

Nonetheless - still perhaps an older watch.

Whatever - it's lovely.
