My choice would be the Patek Philippe ref. 5320G Perpetual Calendar; I think its the Aviator/Military look to it that appeals, and this could potentially be an absolutely anywhere and everywhere watch for me.
Back down to earth to the 'affordable' end I think the Longines Flagship works well purely as a 'dress watch'.
