When you know, you know

Post by jkbarnes »

How often do you know who’s made a post on either CWOTD or NCWOTD from the photo alone because you recognize the watch, the style of the photo, or both.

Personally, I love looking at the photo and immediately knowing who posted it! It makes me feel connected to the forum.

“Oh, look at that, another photo of a C65 Trident Vintage. I bet I know who made that post.”

@MiniMpi Ferg is usually recognizable, but mostly by his brightly patterned shirt sleeve.

I’m hopeless at remembering who has what, but I sometimes recognise a person from the style.

Two wee dogs on a candlewick bedspread is a great help!

Dwight the nice long sleeve shirts are sadly not being worn of late with the strangely hot Irish summer but they will return for sure :)

I must admit there are very few watches that I would recognise outright on their own. There are maybe only a few that spring to mind as real one offs on the forum. A Cartier tank and a certain IWC MK16 are two that jump out right now as obvious choices to me.

Then of course if a selection of one for today and one for later this afternoon/evening, being guarded by Walter and Winston shows up then I can tell who has posted that.

The ‘Lindsey wrist freckle’ and Steve’s blasted C63 Sealander GMT (black dial) always give the game away…and his UN with an out of focus Aegean background!

Well for me it has to be @gaf1958. All those stunning Omega’s made all the more gorgeous by that divine Aussie sunshine. Dappled wristwatch perfection.

Yep, there are watches I recognize by who owns them. I love seeing Greg's Speedmaster moonphase and NTTD seamaster. Gary's plethora of Omegas. Steve's Ulysse Nardin. Drew's Trident vintage. I'm sure there are many others, since my brain seems to store this info rather than anything of use!

By style only, I feel I'd recognize a Ferg photo anywhere!

And yes I love seeing how Chuck's pups are doing every Friday

Likewise, but doesn't he use the same photo every week? :-k :-k

One can tell one of Neil's off wrist photos of a watch propped on top of a fence post / rock / Trig point (select at random) as underneath the watch is a protective folded cloth.

^^^ Your kitchen worktop is quite distinctive, Guy.

I believe there might be a small selection of Walter and Winston photos that rotate occasionally. I have even seen one of them out on a walk in the woods, which lends credence to the theory that they might actually get out of bed occasionally.

^^^^ There might also be a particular Begonia that's recognisable as well.
