Re: What's for dinner?
Because I and several neighbors have some acreage, we get some venison in exchange for hunting permissions annually. My family doesn’t enjoy it much but we are willing to keep trying. We also get a fraction of the maple syrup harvest.

Not dinner, but lunch. We are just waiting for our meals in our local Pesto. Picture shortly.
Here we are. Pesto serves small Italian tapas dishes This is for two of us.

An exuberant little number: white face, clear and easy to read. Excellent reserve, long lasting with a satisfying tail. Recommended.

Marlborough would be my favourite wine region, pretty much. Never been disappointed.

Re: What's for dinner?
It’s time for those autumn slow-cooker specials again. Drunken Pig tonight: diced pork marinated in cider and cooked for about five hours in the marinade and veg stock with onions, herbs, and carrots. Will be finished with cream and Calvados, and served with broccoli mash, fine beans and a glass of rosé.
