What is your 2008 watch-wishlist?
Re: What is your 2008 watch-wishlist?
I got my Aviator earlier than expected, and I've got a Bathys Aquaculture on the way, so other than maybe a C6 for my birthday, I can't think of anything else, although I'm sure something will come up

Re: What is your 2008 watch-wishlist?
Well, since I've now got 2 CWLs (C5 return/replacement notwithstanding), unless Chris brings out an auto or manual C1, I reckon my next watch (Summer 2008 at the earliest) will be a Stowa Marine (auto), although I'll struggle to justify that 2xCWL price for what seems at least to be a 2824-2 in a different case with a different face. I really do like it's simplicity though. What is your 2008 watch-wishlist?

The Stowa Marine has indeed a ETA 2824-2, but I think it is a very nice watch! And the Marine Original is even nicer (and a bit more expensive

My 2008 watch wish-list appears to include the C5AWT I reserved last May.

Well my wish list is:
Seiko 5 (I just want a Seiko auto)
CWL C8 or Stowa Airman Auto Date
Oris Artelier Complication
Maurice Lacroix Phase De Lune (Black face)
The first two are acheivable and the latter two, well I'd need the missus in a VERY good mood to get the Oris and to be drunk to get the ML!

Have - quite a few
Want - not too much

Re: What is your 2008 watch-wishlist?
I just got my C6 T3 2 weeks ago, with an LE on order. My C3 is in for repair, and the C5 is on my wrist this morning
This is more of a 'to-buy' list:
- Guinand Regulator and the Model 11 w/bronze face (will order 1 this week)
- Rolex Submariner w/Date (probably next year)
- Stowa Antea Small Seconds (backordered, which is good for my wallet)
- Meistersinger Single Hand (still thinking this one over) EDIT: Ordered! Will give my impressions - and decide if it stays - once I get it in my hands.
My fiance finally found a watch she really likes - a Rolex - so some of my list will hold for a bit longer

Re: What is your 2008 watch-wishlist?
I go from 'I have enough watches with the three I have' (I'm including the forum le although I don't yet have it), to 'I'll get one of them, and two of them and five of them'
Likely buys this year:
C1 in gold with alligator strap - for me da
Encore - for me ma
Breitling Cockpit Lady or Breitling Superocean Heritage 38mm for my wife, depending on which she likes most if the AD ever gets them in so she can have a look at them - I'm pushing for the superocean, cause, let's face it, I could never pull off the cockpit lady
Possible buy for me?
No idea. I'd love a dress watch to go with my sport watches, but I've tried on some of the JLC Master Control series and some of the IWC dress watches and while they are stunningly beautiful, they don't seem to suit me, so it looks like sports watches are it for the time being. I'd love a Stowa Marine Original, what a fine looking timepiece, but I'm worried that like the JLC and IWC options, it won't do it for me on the wrist. I'm hoping CW brings out something nice in an auto. Love the pilots watches, but they don't suit either. Only one I can think of is the GO Evo. Stunning in pics, but there's no AD for them in Ireland. Ah, I have such a hard life. Maybe I'll just stick to my three......

Re: What is your 2008 watch-wishlist?
Well, just ordered one of the last?? T3's to go with my C3.
Ive also got a Seiko 5 auto and an oldish Tissot Seastar auto, along with various quartz watches, but Ive always liked the TAG Carrera, but it's a big jump up in terms of what Ive ever spent on a watch, so we'll have to see!!
Also saw a very nice JLC watch (cant remember what it was called) but it was rather a lot of money, so I would have to spend a long time convincing myself to buy it, before I even start trying to explain it to the better half

My fiance and I looked at some JLCs the other day. They're gorgeous watches, but that exceeds the limits I'm willing to go (financially) for a timepiece.Monkey wrote:Also saw a very nice JLC watch (cant remember what it was called) but it was rather a lot of money, so I would have to spend a long time convincing myself to buy it, before I even start trying to explain it to the better half![]()

Re: What is your 2008 watch-wishlist?
Thanks for that link. I'll have to check those out.
I ordered a Stowa Marine Original, so the Antea (or a Nomos) will wait.
I'm going to have to thin out some of my older (quartz) watches soon, to make space for the others!

So many watches, so little time (and money!!!).
Re: What is your 2008 watch-wishlist?
I'm fortunate to a) be able to feed this addiction / compulsion / 'hobby' and b) have a fiance that understands, and is even getting SUCKED IN herself (at my expensedant100 wrote:Lucky Bugger!carman63 wrote:

I really want a Guinand at some point. I'm glad I took German in high school - it will help me out a bit, when the time comes
