Yeah; it's something like that.watchaholic wrote: ↑Thu Jul 20, 2023 4:19 pm Regardless of how it’s measured, that is stellar performance from your hybrid. But us Yanks must still take into account, and correct me if I’m wrong, that is an imperial gallon which is approximately 20% more than a US gallon. So roughly 55 mpg. What's confusing to me is the European measure of Fuel Consumption that is back to front, measuring l/100km; where the lower the figure is the better consumption.

For info; over 27,771 km in my Ateca I've used 2,982l of fuel at an average of 10.74 l/100km
OR
17,357 miles / 656.10 galls(Imp) / 26.30mpg(Imp) or 21.90mpg(US)

Re: What Car do you drive??
It’s a self charging hybrid, so no need to plug it in. The hybrid battery on the previous one was rather small, and would give you a couple of miles if you were going under 40 mph and you weren’t accelerating or climbing a hill. This one is bigger, lasts longer and kicks in at higher speeds. On a 12 mile run to or from Norwich I’m consistently getting over 40% of the journey time and distance in EV mode.watchaholic wrote: ↑Thu Jul 20, 2023 4:19 pm Regardless of how it’s measured, that is stellar performance from your hybrid.

Re: What Car do you drive??
@MistaFroggyG, my MX-5. It’s become my daily driver. This was purchased as an early retirement car and to replace an aging MX-5 in need of a lot of work. I stumbled upon this, the exact Miata I wanted in retirement, with just 32k miles on it, local, and at a price I could swing. I had to jump on it even though retirement at the time was still 3 years away (now just one year away!)

Re: What Car do you drive??
Looks great! I also picked up my 97 with 32k miles, but that was in 2015. I’ve since put that many on it myself as it was a daily for a few years. A 2001 with 32k in 2021 is a find!jkbarnes wrote:

@Deej
Height. Feet and inches. 1.83 is not as good as 6 feet.
Wrist size. 7.5 inch on my 42mm watch with a 22/20mm tapering bracelet.
All field events in athletics should have records in feet and inches records.
I hope a football goal is still 8 yards wide. If not that's probably why we lose. A darts oche is definitely feet and inches. A cricket wicket is 22yards. I imagine a down in American football will never be metric. I wasn't sure how long a base was on a baseball diamond, but I see it's 90feet. But it's a square, not a diamond apparently.
Temperatures are Celsius not Fahrenheit, but I think many of us oldies still think 75 degrees for a hot day rather than celsius (24). Cold weather is easier for us in celsius though. -40 is very cold either way.
Liquid. I buy petrol in litres but I still think of it as gallons. And we definitely do mpg, not l/100k.

Don't you trust your handbrake?
Is that the 'full fat' Works or just the style pack?

It's a full fat works, manual

I trust the handbrake, but the chock is a precaution/habit born from when one of our cars slid on snow down the drive into the garage door leaving the door in need of replacement.
