What are you listening to right now ?
The title says it all. As you sit watching the Forum and doing whatever else you do on your puter , do you have music playing in the background and why that track and/or album.
Having just posted a gripe in the Curmudgeon's Corner I have been drawn to some of my favourite mood music. Just listened to Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Freebird" (all 14 mins 56 seconds and loud) and now Hazel O'Connor's "Will You" (amazing moody sax solo) and might go for Nazareth's version of "Cocaine" next.
What have you got going and why ? You might just trigger some old desires in some even older minds (musical desires of course !)

Alastair, your post in CC was the funniest of the lot IMO! Fantastic!
Clare Maclean, contemporary Australian choral music...stunning!
Probably followed by a Vaughan Williams symphony (#3 or 5, I think)

Anyway, this post has worked with the first reply. You've just tweaked my interest to pick up the 40CD boxed set of "Spectacular Classics" that's been sat behind me for the last two years. Might have an hour two of chilling to some civilised music.... 1812 Overture for starters.

Nothing soft and quiet about the way I play choral or orchestral music, Graham!footycrazy wrote:Nothing soft and quiet for me
Years ago, I had a flat in Norwich, and my neighbours were a couple of students. They came in at 4 am one Saturday morning, and started playing some crap on their cheap tinny audio.
So, at 7 am I set a CD of Wagner (Act 3 of Götterdämmerung) on repeat (full welly, and I had some serious kit!) and went out for a LOOOOONG walk...they learned the hard way!

Re: What are you listening to right now ?
I did something similar about 3 years ago, we got new neighbours with 7 yes seven little screaming brats and walls like fag papers, So the midi hifi was sold and the wharfedales were ordered along with a Sherwood 200w Amp and a dvd/video/cd combo, and guess what, they soon shut up.

On a watch forum. What else??
http://youtu.be/MYiahoYfPGk
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way.
Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.
So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.
Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over,
Thought I'd something more to say.
Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
And when I come home cold and tired
Its good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells.

Mostly classical for me ranging from Gabrieli to Glass but interspersed with a smidgen of Deep Purple and Muse.

Re: What are you listening to right now ?
Rarely lisen to music in the house (unless Kerrang! counts?) but in the car I discover that I'm stuck in the 80's with Marillion, Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull as the regulars interspersed with "The best of baroque" and the radio is on "Heart" for light music.
