If you are a football fan, you may have seen that we lost one of the great Scottish managers, Walter Smith, last week. I remember being bawled at by him as a kid when attending a local training session run by the local club at which he was a coach.

I've just listened to this quite infamous interview, that for obvious reasons did make Match of the Day (warning: some choice language!)

This popped up on my YouTube feed this evening.

One of Joe Bonamassa's best concerts from his early years; stripped back, earthy, gritty Power Trio.

Its worth reading through the comments from people who understand guitar playing more than I do (I just like what I hear), about the high regards the Bass Player is held in.

The National. My favorite band. I got into them in my early 20s but they really started speaking to me in my late 30s and now into my 40s.

Call the midwife on Drama is on in the background.

I will now listen to the Danish National Symphony Orchestra playing Ennio Morricone's Once Upon A Time In The West, with a coruscating rendition of Claudia Cardinale's theme starting at about 5:00 There's other versions of this, but this one is Tuva Semmingsen.

My favourite westerns, this, Shane, and Unforgiven. Probably.

This is the version in the film itself

(And Clint turned down the Charles Bronson part, as he thought he might get typecast.)

I love that song, an old ex bought me that as I loved it so much many years ago . I was thinking about her earlier, she was a wonderful person yet I let her go :-(. That song will always remind me if her.
