What are you listening to right now ?
Re: What are you listening to right now ?
How the hell have I never taken any notice of this thread??? Im fuming with myself!
Sat with the acustic live set Skunk Anansie did in London a while ago.
One of the most incredible bands to see live. Skin is an absolute nutcase, legend, and utter mistress! The acoustic set just goes next level.

I saw them a couple of years ago at Manchester Academy. Small sweaty venue. Perfect..!
Imho, Skin has the greatest female voice in modern music. Theres a lot made of female singers over the years. The so called big names (I wont mention as I dont rate them and I dont wana start a drama!) are average at best compared to this legend. The range of her voice goes from angel to maniac and back, like silk.
The acoustic set is on many platforms, Spotify, Sky and Virgin tv included, and blew my mind. I have it saved on my Virgin tv box and watch it fairly regularly!
If you wana raise a pulse, listen to these guys.
If you want to chill and listen to awsome lyrics sung in an acoustic setting, by a goddess, listen to these guys!

This;- Music of the Spheres
Very 'Coldplay' and quite short for a long awaited album.

I'm not an avid fan, but it is very listenable.

This whilst waiting for the Bremont stream to start. Recorded during lockdown with Tom sharing his riffs with other musicians/bands recorded using his voice notes app on iPhone! Definitely worth a listen

ALL SORTS!
I have finally been dragged kicking and screaming into the modern world! After listening to a friend’s Amazon Echo speaker at a dinner party at the weekend, I went out and bought one and downloaded the Alexa app to my phone.
I’m trialling Amazon Music Unlimited and having great fun listening to stuff I haven’t heard since I ditched vinyl and cassette.

Reading this took me back, I remember seeing Skunk Anansie supporting Bon Jovi at Ibrox Stadium in Glasgow, a great gig. I think they had just had their breakout hit "Weak as I am" if my memory serves me correctly. I had to google this concert and it was over 25 years ago (yikesSoporsche wrote: ↑Fri Sep 10, 2021 10:36 pmAgreed, saw them at a small pub type venue many many years ago, Skin is an amazing performer!
