what are sundays for?
Re: what are sundays for?
Sunday is for work for me. Traditionally always earned 50% extra in Sunday's, so do four Sundays a month and you earn two days extra pay. Been like this since my first job so I find it hard to shake the Sunday working mentality.

Flying round the lanes at near-unlawful speeds between villages. Avoiding packs of militant cyclists who use the whole road to try to ensure that nobody can overtake (great fun unless you are on a tight schedule). Finding nowhere to park at the next destination, and then being tutted at for being late, probably by the person who took your reserved space.
Oh, and saying Mass about three times.
Which is the most wonderful privilege I have ever had, and makes it all worth it a zillion times over.

^^ i consider that a super-charged sunday
watching you fail in your quest for a “one watch” has been great entertainment

Re: what are sundays for?
for years Sunday was a day of dread, getting/planning a week of lectures marking and so on. Now a day for flying rc model aircraft, burning burgers on a barbeque and having a crack with the lad's brilliant.

If the weather is fair, it's get the bike out and spends a few hours in t'hills. Mostly peak district. Otherwise D.I.Y or general pottering around! If the weather is rubbish, you'll find me in front of the box watching any motorsport I can find!

Re: what are sundays for?
Sundays are on a par with every other day now that I'm fully retired.
I can sloth out, read a book, watch TV, listen to music, ride my scooter, go for a drive, enjoy a pint, meet up with friends, travel, indulge my wife.
I could go on but don't want to upset anyone who has to do that thing called work.

Sundays are working and getting ready for work on Monday. Hence they are the exact opposite of Scooters.
And I have just realised that I have to do this for another 30 plus years!
