Yep, many thanks Scooter. I hope we can consolidate our place in the PL next season and hold onto to PL status for a good few years but it'll be tough, very tough.

Here's another West Ham fan who's chuffed to bits too. It was an edgy performance yesterday but the lads did us proud. Can't pretend it's not going to be tough next season, but at least we're out of that awful Championship.

Well done to Chelsea too. Solid from them. Feeling really sorry for Harry Redknap.

And to cap a great day, my mate couldn't stop looking at my C700. I'm trying my best to convert him to CWL.

At the beginning of the match I was a young 67 years of age, at the end I was 10 years older! Thought we were very average and Blackpool played above themselves, difference was they could'nt finish which is a common problem with Championship players. The old saying about winning when you are playing badly is the sign of a successful team comes to mind.

Think we will have to spend a few bob in the summer if we are to stay up. Many thanks for the publicity Scooter! I never knew that there were so many Ammers on the site.

Blackpool born and bred. I spent my more formative years watching them play in the old 2 and 3 divisions but have always been a Liverpool man at heart thanks to my Dad. My little bro however is a staunch Seasider and season ticket holder for many a year, and has been rewarded in the lat couple of years.

Anyway we've been to all the playoff games over the years and it's safe to say yesterday will not be fondly remembered. It was all about talking chances and sadly Pool never did. I think they would have walked it with Cole playing for the tangerines; Taylor-Fletcher was missed with an injury in training to add weight against Tomkins (who was MOTM fantastic).

Watching the second half I thought there was only one team going to win and to loose it so late was gutting. I think extra time would have seen Blackpool through. I don't think Blackpool played above themselves in that game but if you only saw the two league games between the clubs you could be mistaken for thinking that. They came at unfortunate times during the season.

At least my bro can be safe in the knowledge that Blackpool play good football week in week out under Holloway; I can't see that being true for you West Ham fans under Big Sam in the Premier league. I hope for your sake he gets and spends money wisely.
Cheers,
Andrew

How is Ince doing at the pool? By all accounts he seems to be doing OK but how have the Blackpool fans taken to him?

Ince and Philips are both regarded as excellent young players and the fans love watching them play. They've been no bother and aren't demanding anything they haven't earned. Was amazed that the West Ham fans booed the kid because his Dad left them 3 years before he was even born! Disgraceful.
Cheers,
Andrew

You gents have awakened a fond memory of mine. My Dad was in the Air Force and I spent most of my youth, until the age of 15, in Europe. We were stationed at Woodbridge/Bentwaters in the early 70's and we lived off base near Ipswich. Pops used to take my brother and I to watch Ipswich Town play and I became a huge fan at the age of 12. Mick Mills was my hero!

We lived there for 4 years when Dad was stationed back to the states. I was devastated and didn't want to leave. I had to leave my mates and there was no football in the U.S.! At least, not the kind I knew at the time. lol. I guess it's good that I discovered another kind of football and became a Green Bay fan. I still miss my Ipswich Town club, though!

Memories are made of this.

I saw Mills and Kevin Beattie in 1975/76 and then joined by Paul Mariner in 1976/77. Ipswich were managed by Bobby Robson and were a very good team.

I was working in Redhill at the time and every weekend we went up to the City to watch teams like Spurs, West Ham, Fulham, Arsenal. I even went to The Shed at Chelsea a couple of times. A mate of mine lost a shoe there as we were carried down the terraces as if on a wave. He never found it.

Wonderful times, it seems like yesterday.
