Darius Navy Defeats Greeks Off Lade- Darius' naval forces were able to defeat the Greek fleet off the island of Lade. With the sea under his control, Darius had no problems in seizing and sacking Miletus. Darius put down the revolt and took control of Ionia.

Elon Musk and every descendant of his still alive. Jeff Bezos finally elevated to Vice Satan. Everyone else only exists as a contiguous fluid state, and it’s a very upset pool of goo still angry that Facebook went bankrupt over 12,000 years ago.

1993

The year I graduated from The College of William & Mary, also the 300th anniversary of the founding of the College. In February of that year, I had the privilege of hearing the Prince of Wales speak on Charter Day. My graduation speaker in May was Bill Cosby....but I don’t talk about that too much anymore.

FUN FACT: Prince Charles was wearing the coolest academic robes I’ve ever seen.

10 years of French revolution begin with the abolition of the Ancien Regime and the beginning of a short lived Constitutional Monarchy and a new National Assembly kicking off a bitter three year power struggle. All accompanied by much distress, inflation and unemployment for the rapidly increasing population. In short, lit match in a powder magazine.

I just realized this will be my 1776th post here, and on no other day than the 4th of July. I just had to resurrect this thread!

Andrew already covered the day in an earlier post. A majorly important day in American history.
