I am a member of wus but rarely post unless I'm the first to buy a watch that has no pictures or info about it over there, ain't nothing worse than researching a watch without any live pics to gage opinion.

I do read TZ-UK from a distance but am not a member due to the sometimes cold atmosphere. This place feels like a family that's why I like it plus everyones good at both voicing and listening to others opinions.

What struck me as a good idea just now, even though I think many would not agree, is perhaps some sort of notification device for when people quote you so when you log on you instantly know which threads you should reply to first. Sometimes I forget about a thread (say in sales corner when u have to log in to view) and people have asked for replies and I've not seen it for a while.

Perhaps the icons on the left already notify you that you have been quoted, I don't know.
I miss all the great things that may never be.

if you go to board index (top left) and then select unread messages...
the left icon will contain a red star if you have posted in that thread (doesn't mean you have been quoted - but helps!)

I thought of something that should be added!

The top of the forum has these buttons:
View unanswered posts • View unread posts • View new posts • View active topics

Make another set, exactly the same, except it automatically opens all unread posts in new tabs*. It would save me a lot of time!

*If there is an easy way to do this someone needs to tell me right now.

you could script that, but... :)

- it uses the scripting methodology which is used by dodgy pop-ups / ads so lots of folks have browsers / anti-virus etc. that blocks it
- it is not controllable - if you come back form holiday to find 100 unread threads / posts - you might start to kill your browser :) you no way of knowing in advance...
- it removes the ability to glance down the unread posts list and see what you are interested in...
- there is more mouse movement / work to go to each, read it and close it than the current approach - esp. if you have a mouse / trackball / etc. with a back button which makes navigation very fast...
