Wild guess, something to do with Captain Cook?iain wrote: ↑Thu Jun 02, 2022 5:46 am Well there have been very few comments in my photo so it’s time for a clue to get you thinking. Hemingway has been the only mention so far, which I take as a reference to somewhere tropical around Florida or the Caribbean? Yes it’s tropical but is probably the opposite side of the world.
However I don’t think you’ll just guess the location without working it out from the clues in the photograph so here’s clue number 1.
That anchor isn’t any old anchor. It’s from a well known ship. This ship is linked to this place and if you guess the ship, you’ll be able to work out the place.
I won’t comment further if anyone wants to just post their thoughts, but I will say if you get it right. However if you’re no nearer then I’ll post another clue tomorrow.

Not Cook. Slightly later. The anchor is from HMS Bounty and it’s in Adamstown, Pitcairn.
I read your clue about the famous ship and the other side of the world and something clicked.
My picture was indeed Kailash in Tibet, and the Chiu Gompa monastery.

^^^^ Well done, you got that one quicker than I expected.
The fact it’s been placed outside the islands courthouse was going to be my next clue.

My pic was taken from a coffee table book which features every country in the world. Many photos are of people so you couldn’t tell where it is but they show the colour and vibrancy of the places featured.

Re: The “Where’s My Watch?” Game
Ok let’s try another one. This is a photo I took several years ago now. I took it out of the window of a moving car I was a passenger in during my morning commute when I was working there. That barrier in the lower half of the photo is the edge of the bridge we were driving over at the time. Those houses are built out over the water in this neighbourhood of what is one of the worlds most populated cities. But which city?

Re: The “Where’s My Watch?” Game
I figured that there weren’t that many of the worlds most populated cities that had housing built over a lagoon.

And I didn’t say lagoon deliberately. I was expecting guesses from mega cities in the Far East with people thinking it was a river.

Re: The “Where’s My Watch?” Game
Can I make a suggestion, please? If you are online when a picture is posted and you definitely know it, either hang fire or PM the poster. Let other people have fun trying to guess. I certainly jumped in very quickly on a couple of the early ones that I had been to – apologies.

Re: The “Where’s My Watch?” Game
Looking at Guys photo I’m not sure where it is. However looking at the sunlight it looks like dusk, so the shadows would put it somewhere on the west coast?
I’m also looking at the gable end of the house in the centre of the photo and wondering if that is typical of the architecture of the region, or if it’s a faux continental style?
