Re: ********THE OFFICIAL BEER THREAD********
Now who's not taking beer drinking seriously? A prospective son-in-law has just greeted me with a manly handshake and a four pack of Theakstons Old Peculier. He seems to pass inspection and should do well... UB
Edit:- not tried it before... is a good beer and strong. Wouldn't do to have more than two and try to type. They've got a good website ... UB

He remembers to wear a Tissot that I gave him and has old-fashioned good manners. He gives my wife flowers and a peck on the cheek. He's hardworking and very fit, muscular and strong. But he drinks cider..... I hope he'll do... UB

Daz - Whilst just forcing another Spitfire down my unwilling throat; I thought - have you seen the cream-faced Hamilton Khaki automatic on the Ernest Jones site? It looks your sort of dial, with big beer-drinking numbers... UB

It is seemly to revive this thread now that it is a sunny and warm August Bank Holiday (yeah, right) as I have just been drinking cold Guinness and nibbling a generous finger of crumbly mature Double Gloucester:- what do you guys enjoy in the way of comestibles and with what beer do you wash them down, now? ...UB

Re: ********THE OFFICIAL BEER THREAD********
Well UB,
Would you believe this.
I,m not a great drinker but i can't believe what a light weight i have become.
When i was younger and living in London i could keep up with most of the lads and after it was always a greasy old doner kebab.
Only really ever been a lager drinker as i just can't pallet (if that's the right word) spirits of any kind.
Anyway, last night i went to my local with a friend here in the sticks and had a couple of pints of Stella and i was gone.
I staggered home around half 12 am and as it's customary to eat after i had to make do with Brie and crackers as the nearest kebab house is at least 6 miles away.
