The not-so green and pleasant land. The apples are also falling in bigger numbers from the tree earlier this year
Sadly hosepipe ban next week for me.
Not Good, Richard. Hopefully, things will get back to normal soon. Long-term change is going to be needed if we’re to cope better in future years if the climate trends continue.

No ban, yet, for us. Seems most of our water is from underground and less susceptible to reservoir evaporation. Time will tell if we’re to face a ban too

Is it a sit on, @jimbo? I think I pay around £100 to get my Viking done. I had to get it done again this year, which don't normally do. I left fuel in over the winter, and it wouldn't start. There's too much water in the E10 fuel apparently. They said I ought to use E5, and also run it till the petrol runs out at the end of the year, so the tank is empty.

Sit on haha..... no a hayter 41, a really good motor for a not so smooth lawn. Whole plot about a third of an acre. Mostly now dead grass and weeds.
It needed a couple of repairs that boosted the service. I have had it since 2002/4
I never worry about the fuel left in over winter not been a problem for me. I always however check the oil never runs low.....like a car really

^^^^ Just a suggestion, but I use a fuel preservative in my petrol mowers at max (cleaning) strength and leave fuel in over winter (regular unleaded). I've used either Hayter and the Briggs & Stratton and both seem to work well. Sometimes I start the mowers over winter for peace of mind, but it doesn't seem to matter. You may even find it worthwhile to use Aspen fuel for over wintering, pricey but cheaper than paying extortionate servicing costs (!). FYI a new carburettor (genuine part) can be bought for under £30, pattern parts are less than half that.
I also service my own mowers - new spark plug & filter, fresh oil, sharpen the blade - which I do myself but a local hardware shop charges £4. Costs about £12 though washing the filter and re-using it will reduce that. It's a VERY simple job and easily done just after mowing the lawn while the oil is warm.
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left

Update, done the 4in1 treatment a few days ago, some of the moss has turned black and the big spikey weeds are dying off
