stefs wrote: Thu Apr 07, 2022 12:36 pm If anyone is interested I recently bought the sure shot v3 watch. This comes with sensors that pop in the end of the grips for all your clubs and gives an incredible amount of information. Averages and longest for all clubs. Where all your misses are. % GIR left, right, short etc.
The gps function is also the most accurate I have used. (I have used a lot! )
Now I have my Tag I don't see me using it so mates rates if anyone fancies it.
I jumped at Paul's offer for his Shot-Scope V3. For a few months now I've been reading the good reviews that this GPS watch has received from several YouTube reviewers so thought I'd try it to get to know my total distances and to highlight the good and bad areas of my game.
I've been wearing the Shot Scope V3 purchased in April from Paul for my recent rounds of golf (about 8 rounds since I restarted playing after injuries). It took me a couple of rounds to understand it enough to set it up correctly and also get into into my head to press the "number of putts" before I leave each green so I've only got 4 representative rounds recorded and transferred into the web based dashboard so far.

Despite the low number of rounds it's already showing patterns in play and the "roll-out" length of shots for each club which is very useful. Unfortunately as these distances are recorded from the GPS function it's not possible to obtain or record "carry" distances. I'll have to get on a Track-Man or similar piece of equipment to get these carry distances.

If anybody has been considering 1 of these watches I can say I'm impressed by both the GPS and Tracking functions on it plus it's very light on the wrist so no problem wearing it during the round.

I played this very picturesque links course last weekend. Tricky conditions in a strong wind. Didn’t play too well at the start and end of the round but holes some putts and got a number of pars in the middle.

^^^^ Very picturesque indeed Patrick.

I've looked down on the course from the Castle on many an occasion.

Since the end of both golf leagues I played in this year, my buddies and I have chosen to play different courses every week excluding our home course.

We have discovered several that we would love to play again and a few that we shall not play ever again. Overall we have found conditions to be very good except on a few. We have found the challenge of playing new tracks to be quite interesting and know we will do better the next time around.

We have also taken to the mountain courses to enjoy the foliage this fall and will be venturing south to Cape Cod this week to play a course I have itching to play for 15 years. Although a bit cooler now the season has a ways to go yet.

Question for you my fellow golfers...
Do you wear your automatic watches while playing? Do you have concerns / views on whether you are likely to cause any damage. I quite like the idea of wearing a little sealander but haven't.
A question that always seems to divide opinion. I wonder what CW would say?

I watched all the end of season stuff on Sky, and assumed there would be a gap until the 2023 season started. Is there no gap at all? Does it all just start again immediately?

Personally I do not wear an auto while golfing as I wear a Garmin GPS golf watch. I would add that I would not wear one. I see no reason to subject a watch to various impact vibrations.

That said, I know many that many do without any noticeable known negatives to the watch. Many professionals wear automatics and have far faster swing speeds than I do.

I always wear my Omega Seamaster Professional Diver 300M when golfing, according to the Omega it is shock resistant to forces of up to 5000g

Blimey just noticed the list price is 16% more than when I bought mine, you'd think we were in an inflationary period :problem:

Digital G-shock. The main reason I bought it. I also wear it to the gym because I like to go in the sauna and steam room.

I think a discussion on wearing non-sports watches while playing golf has been discussed before, maybe even on the early pages of this subject thread.

Until recently I've not worn any type of watch while playing golf as I thought it would be uncomfortable and not good for the movement or bracelet to wear any decent automatic watch.

As on a previous post on here I've been wearing a Shot Scope golf watch that is very light and comfortable to wear while playing so I can try to understand distances for each club.

And a very good purchase it was !
Don't you wear the TAG anymore as that's why you sold the Shot Scope (or have I missed a completed sale of the TAG) ?

Edit - I was considering buying 1 of the Garmin range before you advertised your Shot Scope.

I had decided that I would buy the S62 mainly because it also had specifications that I would want for gym work (e.g. Heart Rate monitoring). It is quite a bit more expensive (£450ish) than the S60 or S42, both of these being around £240-£270.

Best of luck.
