Hopefully it would feel nice out of the centre though, unlike with these modern sledge-hammers.

I’d rather a regular hit out of the centre of my modern sledgehammer than a much lower success rate with a Persimmon!

Almost walked in halfway through the back 9 today. I continually have a good front 9 (+4 today) and then fade away as soon as I hit the turn (+15) for +19 total.

Of my 5 submitted scores, the same thing has happened three times (across two different courses). Trying to figure out if it's a fitness issue or I just don't have the mental capacity for 4 hours of golf.

Yesterday was just the opposite for me. Things have started to fall into place although the wedges were a still little weak. Shot a 41 on the front 9 and came back with a 40 on the more difficult back 9. I was very pleased as this was the most solid and consistent round this year.

Could just be you need an energy boost at the turn. Something like a banana and an energy bar or similar.

Just wait till you have a bad front 9 but a good back 9 - that'll really blow your mind.

I'd be happy just to get out and play 18 holes whether good, bad or indifferent - this summer was due to be busy and full of golf for me but I've not been able to play since end of March due to various stupid but lingering injuries and so far have missed out on playing Sunningdale, a golf trip to Norfolk and the club championships.

Frustrating.

You could play the back 9 first, or hire a buggy.

Off today to play a mountain course that I have never played before. It is a tournament at a private club. The weather is looking to be perfect so it should be fun. At least we have 1 of our foursome that is familiar with the course. that should help some.

Played 18 holes today, fine weather and some dodgy spectators. A couple of birdies and nearly a hole in one. Hey ho, maybe next time!

A bit of a drought here lately, but still a great day on the course! 9 holes, a birdie and 2 pars. Now trying to forget about the quadruple bogey at the bar next door…

Played in a rather different tournament today called Red, White and Blue. You play 6 holes each from each color tee. You pick which holes. It is a best ball score for each hole. My partner and I tied for first plus won 2 skins so it was a profitable day.

Together we were 8 under par net and 6 over gross. I shot a 78 and my partner shot 88. We3 worked very well together and I even had an eagle to go along with a couple birdies. For the first time this season I really had confidence in my iron play. Our putting was the real star of the day. We were sinking everything. It was just one of those days where everything fell into place as a team. :)
