How do you maintain your professional integrity at work in the face of the crippling incompetence of your coworkers compromising everything you try to do?

Asking for a friend…

I’d love if CW offered a non-DHL option. My Twelve is sitting somewhere in a DHL warehouse with no information about when one of the couriers will deliver it. It was meant to be here yesterday and wasn’t, and as it’s 5:15 pm it’s not happening today either.

Obnoxious people doing obnoxious things because they think it's amusing, and subsequently taking moral umbridge when being called out on said obnoxiousness. Bizarre.

Trying to enter the public ballot for tickets for Wimbledon next year; yes you have to apply that early! There seems to be a problem with the system, I've tried a number of times now. Getting rather f@£$ed off. Last time I was there was a long time ago; I slept on the pavement to get tickets. There was no internet back then just a much bigger spirit of adventure. I miss those times...

At the weekend I was feeling all smug with myself as I’d found a bargain genuine Bremont nato on eBay. Advertised as 20mm, used but excellent condition and in the photos it looked unworn.

Arrived today and it’s an extra long Bremont nato that doesn’t fit. I had forgotten they offer different lengths and I hope the seller wasn’t being misleading by failing to mention this in their listing.

So I’ve now got an unworn genuine Bremont nato that can’t really be considered a bargain if I can’t use it.

What the h*ll, FedEx?! My package originated in Springfield, VA, about 30 minutes up the road. From there it went to Lorton, VA, about 15 minutes up the road. But for some mysterious reason it was then sent on to Hagerstown, MD, about an hour and 40 minutes away, where it is now being shipped back down here to me?! I swear it’s going to go right back to Lorton, from which it will then be delivered to me. How does this make sense?

I know there are far more dangerous/high pressure/stressful jobs than working in retail
Today our warehouse flooded, we were trying to move stock, the door to the shop was blown off it’s hinges, trying to deal with getting that fixed and make it safe for customers. We had 5 members of staff on duty. We decided to remain open so customers can buy/ collect their orders.
You would not believe the abuse we received because people had to wait a few minutes to get served/ receive their orders.
Should of just shut up shop, nobody would get their orders then and my staff would go home a lot less stressed
Give us a break people

I’m still on one, ref to my previous post, two of my staff on duty today were young ladies (late twenties early thirties) both have young families, husbands, children, bills, rent etc, trying to do the best they can. Husbands go off to work, they do the school run, come straight to work, they both are excellent workers, finish their shift, straight back to the school run. Then the hard work starts, family life. One had to arrange for someone to pick up her child because the school had to close and still trying to do her job. They do not deserve the crap they had to put up with today, just for £11 an hour.
So all I ask is the next time you are in a retail store and things don’t go your way, take a breath, you might not know what’s happening behind the scenes AND don’t treat people like S#/t. Thank you

Well I wasted 2 or 3 hours last night. I added a Gmail account to my outlook, and I was trying to write some code to automate sending emails using that account, but everything I tried failed.

It turned out that I just needed to close outlook and re-open it, in order for other programmes to recognise the new mail accounts. Never saw that mentioned anywhere.

Wife and daughter visited a local Sainsbury’s on 11/11/23 to return some clothes that my daughter had bought. As there was a sale on, they proceeded to peruse the merchandise and buy some other items.

Once they had finished and returned to their car, my daughter realised that she had a gift card, with some cash left on it, that she could have used.
They promptly went back in and got refunded for some items then re-bought them with the gift card.

So far, so clever!

Except for the fact that, overall, they were in there for 2.5hrs, which means we now have a parking ticket from Eurocarparks for £85 for a 30 mins overstay. It used to allow 3hrs but has apparently been recently changed!

It’s bad enough but this is the second time this year that my missus has had a parking ticket. She’s also been done for doing 34 in a 30 and driving through a bus gate when she got lost!

She becoming a tad expensive to keep!

Sold the wife's car a few months ago and I've been made to regret it every day since. We had 3 cars on the drive and it made no sense to run them all. I drive an auto gearbox with hand controls and can't transfer into the other two cars, daughter can only get insured on her car, wife can and did drive all three. We all agreed it was the right thing to do and reduced the mortgage with the sale proceeds.

Ever since then she's mostly driven my car but has refused to bluetooth her phone to the car and won't program her seat position into the car memory as both these things might indicate she's accepted the change. She's also managed to dink or scratch quite a few of the panels "because it's too long and awkward to park".

I'm working out how to buy her a car so that things can get back to normal.

I’m such a hoarder. I really thought I could complete a local sale to a friend who has admired my C7 Rapide LE. Just can’t let it go. It’s such a great watch for so many reasons, and probably irreplaceable.

Advertised an item on FB Marketplace this afternoon at approximately 2:30. Within the hour, I had 4 people asking if it was still available. I replied to say yes, yet no one has come back to me. Why ask if yer not interested?

Edited: today.
It’s a reclining sofa and my add states that it’s fully working and must be collected by the buyer, yet I’m now being regularly asked if it works and can I deliver? Don’t people read the actual adds?

I included the dimensions in my add yet had a conversation with a guy, late last night, who asked if it would fit in a specific type of van? He said he’d measure it today? Still waiting! I’ve since googled it and it should ?

I thought that selling watches was a minefield?
