Water companies that dump sewage in our seas and rivers, on the pretext of “storm overflow discharges”.

Unavoidable? Really?

So what a coincidence that the useless bardstewards dumped sh*t at the same time earlier in the week meaning no swimming for two days on five beaches that I use. And no they are not beaches next to each other.

They cover the north and south coasts of Devon and Cornwall and the furthest beaches were about 120 miles apart.

Strange then that there never seems to be calls from people in authority for the CEOs of such companies to resign.

It seems that they only stick their oar in when it suits them!

(I think I had better stop now!)

I wish evil upon those who talk on speaker phone in public!

And even greater evil if it’s in a checkout line somewhere.

Called to a meeting by my regional manager because he was offended that I sent him an email and that I had cc a h&s colleague in on it.

The email was due to the fact that we cannot get replenishment of nitrile gloves for our staff and I have ordered more of them 4 times and still no show.

Yet as a company they want all staff to complete a h&s course online by close of business today to outline the importance of wearing said gloves as the staff work with chemicals....apparently I was wrong to send it them and it should've just been him only.

Then proceeded to try and give me another rollicking as I had gone out and bought said gloves from Screwfix on the company credit card..

There are many beautiful and posh parts of Edinburgh, that I don’t live in  . Where I live there is great community and often fruity behaviour. I have no problem with any of it really. Apart from the idiots who leave broken glass behind them after their stooshies, stramashes or squeals out in the street.
I’m just about to take Neo to the vet. It’s clear he has something - likely glass - in a pad. I can’t avoid every piece of broken glass in the street. Sometimes I just have to hold my breath and hope.
A***holes don’t cause me any bother generally. A***holes who don’t take their mess home with them do

Been thinking of getting a leather strap for my 14060m Sub for a while, thought I would buy an inexpensive one just to see what it would look like. Had a walk into town to the local small jewellers to see if they had anything. Asked for a 20mm leather strap, the lady bought out a tray of straps to choose from, picked one and walked home.
FFS when I got home it was 22mm ](*,) . Never mind it’s a nice day I’ll have another walk into town and change it.
WHAT shop closes at 4pm on a Saturday, got there at 4:05 :censored:
I’m so annoyed with myself, if I asked for a 20mm strap I thought she would show me 20mm straps, I didn’t check,
I also didn’t check their opening times before I walked back into town

I went into Dibley Co-op to use the ATM (the only one in the village). It showed a malfunction message and returned my card. No problem.

I told the manager it wasn’t working.

“Yeah, we know.”

“Why don’t you put a note on it?”

“We’re not allowed to.”

Really?

My wife broke her leg in two places last Wednesday. She went to step down two steps but missed the first!

She was away at the time and her friend took her to the nearest hospital. The A&E staff put a temporary, half support on her leg and sent her on her way, with instructions to contact our local orthopaedic dept for an appointment!

They let her take photos of her x-rays from their computer screen and gave her a prescription for blood thinners, to prevent blood clots and a form with a description of her injury.

The prescription was almost impossible to obtain, as several local pharmacies simply stated that they couldn’t order it?

Took me most of Thursday afternoon to find one that would even try! It thankfully arrived Friday afternoon!

We phoned our local hospital orthopaedic dept and were asked to email the pics of the x-rays & notes and told to phone back if we don’t hear from them by Monday.

As you might guess, we haven’t heard anything and subsequent calls went unanswered! Yes, I know they said Monday, but it doesn’t hurt to try?

Meanwhile, my wife is self injecting the blood thinners and popping paracetamol & ibuprofen like it’s going out of fashion!

I’m really glad it’s only broken in two places and not anything more serious!
Steve.
