Wednesday traffic, its seems the day that all the hybrid/WFH's have to be in the office. It's the new Monday morning traffic!

WTH, why can’t drivers stop for animals crossing the road? I was the lead driver in a line of stopped vehicles waiting for 9 goslings and two adult geese, and some **** about 5-6 cars back decided he needs to cross the centerline and accelerate around the cars stopped in both directions. He saw them late, but saw them nonetheless. His poor decision making process coupled with his unnecessary acceleration led him to skid and just miss the geese, and my car. He waved with a single finger when I called out to him, “nice driving!”

I had a bit of an epiphany yesterday that was rather depressing. I consider myself a very empathetic person. I think it’s essential to being a good teacher. Being empathetic though can be quite draining. That’s a lot of energy going out. That’s fine when there’s energy coming in.

But when one gets little to nothing in return? It’s brutal. I’ve realized that I’m putting a lot of positive energy out there at work to both my students and my co-workers and getting next to nothing in return. I can’t take it anymore. For my own mental health I feel like I really need to pull back. That runs so counter to who I am, though. I feel stuck between a rock and a hard place.

FULL DISCLOSURE: while I’m very empathic, I also curse at the top of my lungs at idiot drivers on the road. There are a lot out there.

This is just shocking. I am poised to start juggling sports channels between the Monaco Grand Prix qualifying and stage 20 of the Giro, and my wife has announced she is now watching last night's Coronation Street.

I am now reduced to watching the sport on my mobile phone.

Now I’m ready for any challenge, oh how wrong was I,.......my gas/electric contract runs out end of June, let’s sort out a new one.....I know there are a few problems with energy supplies but WTF.....I HAVE NO WORDS.....JUST EXHAUSTED :silent:

Had some trouble getting the one year-old to bed last night and delayed watching Succession until tonight. Naturally someone had to spoil it on Instagram.

I wish I could be political. There's a lot of venting I need to do. :D

On a real point, Amazon prime had echo buds at £39.99 instead of over £100. By the time my son got home they were all gone, and back to full price. (they had to be bought with Amazon prime)

Anyway I bought some ear fun buds for slightly more. They came today, but with my phone I need to use them in "game mode" to sync the pictures with the sound. I think that will be ok, but I don't actually do any gaming. (The only game I ever finished was Dino Crisis, which I think was on PS1. )

OK, I understand that language is a fluid thing, adapting and changing with time under various sociocultural influences, but our Chancellor of the Exchequer has just used the word Debanked to describe the process whereby a prominent person had their bank account closed down.

Debanked??? The predictive text on my phone doesn’t even know the word yet. WTAF?????? :veg:

I’m only posting this in here because the rules won’t allow a response which is fine with me.

I’ve just been out on a leaving do for an ex colleague. I was their manager for a few years and many of the attendee’s were from the department I used to oversee.

Almost without exception I was I asked when I would come back, the feeling is they want someone to manage them that listens to people and respects them.

Sadly this quality seems to be lacking in a lot of managers these days.

Been up in the loft, 32 years worth clutter and keepsakes, there's at least 4 Xbox's up there, and 3 x 70 litre boxes of various cables, handsets etc.
I got a bit overwhelmed, but finding a few treasures cheered me up.

Useless work colleagues, who don’t know they’re useless.

I spend many, many hours on calls shaking my fist and swearing, camera off & muted (hopefully).
My name is 0uatiOW, but before you ask, no I don’t.

Thank goodness for all of the following:
a) my iPad battery going flat on me and causing me to have to pick up my phone!
b) me, actually paying attention to the notification that briefly flashed up on my Home Screen for once!
c) actually having my banking notifications switched on!
d) a transaction showing in USD rather than GBP! (Made it stand out)
e) being able to actually report the fraudulent transaction immediately, through the banking app!
f) the second fraudulent payment notification actually popping up whilst I was reporting the first, enabling me to include it in the claim!
g) both payments still being “pending”!
h) both payments only being small! ( $12.25)
i) the email informing me that my “claim” was successful and I will be reimbursed!
j) the fact that I was at home rather than work, as my phone would have been stuck in my bag for the day and I may not have spotted the notification!

Don’t you just hate the low life thieving scumbags that think it’s okay to steal from others?

What puzzles me is why there would be two identical payments of $12.25, 5 mins apart, from a company called CHEAPAIRPORTPARKING?
Unless the company itself is a scam, what does anyone gain from these two payments? Oh, I know what you’re going to say. $24.50
Steve.
