In the CWL of the day thread I mentioned I was getting g a tattoo.
This is my Andromeda tattoo. Andromeda is a song by Gorillaz we play for my son when he gets upset and it always calms him down. I wanted to get a tattoo about him, but I wanted it to be a little… abstract. Anyway, I think the tattoo artist did a great job.

I definitely don’t have the arms for anything. I bet you could pull the right tattoo off. Find an artist whose style you like and they can help you figure out something that works for you.

Re: Tattoos
I’ve been mulling over a tattoo for years now. I got a very short quote on my wrist when I got married, but it’s not really enough to qualify as a bonafide tattoo.NationOfLaws wrote: ↑Sat Jul 30, 2022 10:48 pm I definitely don’t have the arms for anything. I’ve been thinking about a rooster for a number of reasons now but haven’t pursued a design with an artist yet.
While on Cape Cod I came across a perfect tattoo that I am going to follow up with an artist on. It’s a simple idea and design that I’d like to get on my forearm where I can see it whenever I want.

Re: Tattoos
This little crying Minotaur from Radiohead’s Amnesiac was my first tattoo. Situated next to the new one makes it kind of like the shanty next to the million dollar house, but I still love it.

Re: Tattoos
Well, this is my “tattoo,” to the extent that three words qualify as a true tattoo. It’s a reference to my favorite passage from my favorite novel, Anna Karenina. I got it the day after I got married as a reference to my wife and her amazing green eyes. Here’s the full quotation:
This is on my right wrist, so it sits just under the watch she gave me as a wedding gift.He could not be mistaken. There were no other eyes like those in the world. There was only one creature in the world who could concentrate for him all the brightness and meaning of life. It was she.

That’s really cool! What a great story. The size of the tattoo doesn’t matter, in my opinion, it’s what it means to you.

Re: Tattoos
This is not a thread I would normally comment on. I don't have any tattoos and have never been inclined. Chacun a son goût.
However, it strikes me that with Andromeda and the Minotaur you are well on your way to an ancient Greek mythology collection. The Judgment of Paris might be a nice one!

It occurred to me as I posted the Minotaur that I should refer to my left arm as the Greek Wing.Amor Vincit Omnia wrote: ↑Sun Jul 31, 2022 8:41 amThis is not a thread I would normally comment on. I don't have any tattoos and have never been inclined. Chacun a son goût.

Re: Tattoos
Here's a Rooster I may get eventually, if I stop spending my Tattoo budget.
I also really like this patch style, but I'm not be sure, where to go for it.
Regards Steve

Re: Tattoos
That looks great! And a great story to accompany too, thank you for sharing. Great detail, I love the dot work and shading, very nice.
I have a few, most done later in life (well, 40 years and older). My son has been hankering after his first for a while now (long enough to ensure it’s not a passing ‘thing’), so I’ve introduced him the very nice man that has done mine. I’d much prefer he goes somewhere decent, even if a little more expensive.
