Would a leather cleaner/conditioner, like you get for car seats etc work on the straps I wonder???

I bought a new strap recently, and it absolutely honked.......no idea what it had been treated with, but wasn't pleasant  and certainly not a nice leather smell, so I may try "the above" on that?!!

So far I've tried washing and leaving them in the great outdoors all day. Also tried leaving them next to an oil burner with various scents wafting round. :)

So far, so-so. Better, but not perfect yet.
