SS or TT DD for Not Too Much
Which stainless steel or two-tone (gold and steel) day date that would not be a step down for a person with a daily watch as a high-end Tissot and would not be too expensive?

Okay, let me rephrase that.
I need to find a watch with:
Day complication
Date complication
Automatic or kinetic movement
Stainless steel or two-tone
Three-figure price
Respectable brand

There aren't that many watches with a day complication, maybe you should look at Zeno.

Interesting. The person I want to buy for has owned a Swiss for more than a decade though.

It looks like anything with a valjoux 7750 might work if you are not turned off to that movement:

He doesn't want a chronograph. He would never use it and it would just clutter up the dial (his words).

Zenos are too big and too much for what they are IMO. He hates big crowns, so that Oris is out.

Too sporty, but thanks for reminding me about Croton. Maybe I can get him something else from them. Does anybody know anything about their reliability, movements or quality of plating?

About all I know is that they sell them on Shopnbc a lot. I don't care for the company president because his demeanor reminds me of a used car salesman (no offense intended to any UCS out there). But, they do seem to usually have a lifetime warranty. I personally don't care for them though.President wrote:Too sporty, but thanks for reminding me about Croton.
