Dogs play an important role in enabling the blind and the hearing impaired, yet it would appear that other groups require a thorough screening process, often to be denied. I guess some rescue centres see themselves immune of discriminatory practice under the pretence of ensuring that the dog is placed in a home where they will not only be cherished for the rest of their life but also receive the appropriate care and nurturing they need to thrive. Something that clearly I was judged as incapable of providing.
