Love the maps Drew, a bit of a geography nut myself. Congrats on the new setup!

Time and money? I’ve spent most of mine on booze and women. The rest I just wasted…

Your new study/man cave looks amazing! I suspect overcoming some of the challenges along the way to get to this point make sitting there enjoying your downtime all the sweeter

@jkbarnes The study looks amazing! I love a lot of bookshelves myself. Glad the Penfold has a place of honor!

@jkbarnes Wow, your den looks wonderful. Congrats! Enjoy retirement and new house to the fullest. My wife and I moved to a new house about a year ago, and spent six months and a great deal of money rebuilding. Like you, we now get to enjoy it. Btw, my retirement is a few years off, maybe two or three, four at the most. I’m beginning to look forward to it.

SECOND UPDATE: I found this old steamer trunk at a Habitat For Humanity ReHome store. I’ve always had a fascination with steamer trunks. This one was in fantastic shape and absurdly cheap, so I used the last of the retirement gift card from my department to get it. It seems like a fitting gift from my department, along with the school map. I’m using it as a table in my study.

It was also the inspiration behind what we’ve finally settled upon for a retirement trip in the spring. We’re booked to cross the Atlantic from NYC to Southhampton on the Queen Mary 2, then we’ll spend a week in Edinburgh before flying home. I might even buy a tuxedo to the crossing!

You can use the steamer trunk for your voyage but the airfare back by be a bit exclusive. Congratulations and wishing you and your wife a wonderful retirement.
