Will forgive you ;-)

I just want the brand to be affordable again ... And get a "FFS" response saying it's boring. It's fine for some who don't care about pricing but I, and many others, do have to watch the pennies.

Ah so. Thanks.

I generally don't read the threads about sales.

Personally I do, but there are certainly things that I avoid. I think that perhaps quite a few of us are becoming a little more selective in our reading. I know plenty of people, including a couple of moderators, who admit to not looking at the vintage section – why would they, if they are not interested? For the same reason, I tend not to open threads that contain: C60, bracelet, clasp, and the names of certain high-profile brands I'm not that interested in.

I used to feel that it was somehow necessary to comment in every thread, especially new watch threads. I tend not to do that very much either, now – with the exception of birthdays and welcoming newcomers, which I intend always to do. If I'm really not interested in something, then any comment I make would probably be facetious, which doesn't help at all. I do get a bit cross sometimes with the off topic trashing, for want of a better word, of perfectly good threads that start off with a question about watches.

I think there's a good article on forum etiquette...might do us all good to read it now and then.

Be it the prices a certain eBay seller hopes to achieve or the pricing/discounting policy of CWL themselves you do sometimes come across as being on some sort of campaign against things that you, us, or this forum have no influence over.

Personally, I have chosen to ignore anything you post on these subjects, and as a result what was actually becoming quite a hostile relationship very quickly changed into one that is far more harmonious.

Everyone that spends any time on here knows your opinion on the subjects that always seem to generate the comments/replies you don't like, so perhaps it might be time to move on and not bring them up again?
Well stated and constructive feedback to the OP.

Fair enough but others will bring up pricing and sales etc and it'll be fine to resurrect. .. either way, my mentioning a topic to then get a "ffs ... this is boring" response was not on, which was the point in my bringing it up on here about having some respect.

Absolutely. .. at the end of the day, this forum, watches etc mean nothing in the whole scheme of things that are really important (the world will carry on spinning without watches, but enthusiasm for hobbies and interests does help keep the world spinning) ... but a plea, as my initial post says, that folk be a it more respectful, that's all.

I think I have a right to reply.

Just to put all this in perspective; I complained that Martin's post was boring as he repeatedly came back to the same agenda:

Since then he has called me:
rude
pompous
bullying
snide
immature
cliquey
He has also told me to 'sod off'.

It's a forum – we don't all see things the same way; as some previous posters have said with great tact earlier in this thread.
There's always time for one more.

I'm not sure if I find it humourous or infuriating when alpha males can't ever admit they're wrong .. anyway ..

My right to reply ..

You started your response to one comment I made on a thread that I had originated with: "For fu*k's sake" ... So, yes, I have a right to be angry. Was that really fair, Paul? What gives you the right to respond to something so angrilly, and so pompously (calling my comments 'boring' .. maybe try reading some of your own).

And all of the above is what I said if you wanted to be like that, ie. the forum has no time for people with all those 'qualities' .. then if you, and your clique can't be nice, just 'sod off' .. which I can only think is fair.

So there I was, enjoying a cup of freshly brewed coffee while checking out the recent posts on one of my favourite watch forums and what do I see? A magnificent pair of breasts. Now, chauvinism aside, there is little better than some magnificent imagery to raise one's spirits. A quick tootle-too over to this splendid place and what do I discover? More tit-for-tat posting by chaps who really should accept that other humans will have different opinions, that those opinions may make them hot under the collar but that often, in the adult world, it is necessary to acquiesce once it becomes obvious that the alternative is a never ending debate of 'you said', 'I said', 'this and that' and 'yawn'. If I could reach through the internet, there would be some head clanging to end all head clanging.

Incidentally, the forum with the norks thread is one of the best(worst) places for observing the keyboard warriors at play and I really hope this place doesn't continue to resemble that.
