Fitted the replacement movement late this evening.
All working as it should :)
Just to give a quick clean up to the body and glass of the clock before i hand it back to my Dad.

Until I read this thread, I didn't think of replacing the movement of my JD clock.

I received the replacement from eBay and clock now working fine. I also replaced the pointers with a more ornate design and included a sweep instead of a ticking movement.

My wife was surprised as well, mainly cos it works :D

My Dad was over the moon this evening when i gave him back his now working clock.
The couple who gave him the clock years ago have passed and their anniversary is coming up next week so very poignant that the clock is now working again.
