Just clocked up my first 1,000 miles on the Scrambler 1200. Bloody love it.

Picking up a bag of home made samosas that a pal cooked for me after work - hoping if I cycle there and back I can eat them all without feeling guilty

A one minute video from yesterday's trip up to Cumbria...

This is the Hardknott Pass, including an encounter with an intrepid cyclist - negotiating a serious hill climb/hairpin.

Apologies for the crappy sound from my 'dashcam'.

Wow, I've driven the Hard Knott just once, good fun. Definitely an intrepid cyclist; I think many would have been walking long before.

I like the soundtrack. Almost makes your Scrambler sound like a WW1 Bi-plane.

Driven over that one a couple of times in the car. Deffo wouldn’t tackle it on my peddle bike.

It was heart-in-the-mouth time for both of us, I think. It's never a great idea to come to a standstill on a 1 in 3 hill/hairpin/adverse camber situation. I was trying to ensure the GS didn't stall whilst also trying to figure out his path so I could go around him. He was busting his gut to maintain momentum whilst wondering if he was about to get squashed by a guy on a 250kg motorcycle.

^^^ I can imagine. I drove a hired Vauxhall Meriva 1.5D over the Col-du-Tourmalet in the Pyrenees once. Stalled it on several hairpins as I’d never driven a diesel before! That was scary. Didn’t realise they had no power under 2500rpm when the turbo spins up. Once I cottoned on, we were fine. Revved the nuts off after that!

I don't think my 9.2 hp Monkey would have made that switchback, whether on or off camber.
