Turn it upside down, take off the prop and put an aero prop on.
Bet it will go then!
Thank you for your suggestion, Ian.

Unfortunately I have to report back some bad results. I cannot reach the pull handle and I guess water inside the motor is not good either :? :ka:

OK, next idea.
Convert the motor to a brushless electric motor, they run underwater.... Ask me how I know! Add a water turbine generator to power the motor as you move along and you have no fuel costs! Simples😁

Or just mount the above to the bottom of the boat and fix an apron/skirt made out of an old tarpaulin all the way round with a bit of sellotape and you have a hovercraft 😆
It may surprise you, Im not an engineer!

This is a ride I quite often do, but today I took a little camera with me.

1/4 Mile east from home is the local recycling centre, based in a small layby formed when the old road was straightened out. Turning my back on the recycling bins; I have this view. The towers in the distance are RAF Barford St John.
IMG_0112.JPG
RAF Barford St John is a Cold War communications Squadron of the US Airforce. This one is linked by microwave to the similar station at RAF Croughton. As a Radio Amateur, I've always wondered how good the horizontal polarised, rotating HF Log Periodic antenna would be if I hooked it up to a Ham transceiver!
IMG_0114.JPG
Going South, this is a typical piece of Oxford lane. I'm on my way to Nether Worton and up Flight Hill.
IMG_0117.JPG
This is the view back South from the top of the ridge in the previous picture. 2 Fields to the left is Great Tew Estate, where they erected the 'Big Tent' for filming the 'Grand Tour' with Clarkson, Hammond and May.
IMG_0118.JPG
I've seen quite a lot from Farmers this year about the rain being too much at one time and then giving drought conditions for the crop growth. This field of wheat is very patchy with flood damage at sowing time, but what's left is looking quite strong with good ear development.
Just to left, hidden in a dip, is Soho Farmhouse. A smart Members Only weekend place. One of the membership conditions is that you have to have connections with the Media Business (!)
IMG_0119.JPG
This is Great Tew Radio Tower, just across the cross roads from the last pic. It's the highest point of my ride today
IMG_0121.JPG
On the road from Little Tew to Church Enstone, there are three magnificent fields of poppies. This is why I took the camera!
IMG_0122.JPG
IMG_0123.JPG
Near Church Enstone, which is the soutwest corner of my route, I came round a corner to find a Red Kite feasting off some fresh road-kill. I frightned him off, but I realised he was just circling to get back to the food. So I jumped off the bike. The dot in the road 50M away is the Kite. Truly magnificent to see close up.
IMG_0128.JPG
This unprepossessing entrance is for Renault F1 - I wonder who will replace Ricciardo in 2021?
IMG_0130.JPG
Well on the way back, I came across this Pavement Sculpture in Duns Tew (I'm not making these village names up)
A great effort by Sarah Taylor of Duns Tew
IMG_0131.JPG
One more climb before home. This is Radwell Hill or Hempton Real Deal on Strava. The bit at the end is 18% and not so long ago, I had to get of and walk that bit.
IMG_0132.JPG
This is the same view as the first pic, but this time I'm nearly back in Deddington and I am 1/4 mile West of Home.
I am lucky and privileged to live here.
IMG_0133.JPG
There's always time for one more.

I live in Durham, and this was about 4 hours into a 7 hour ride on bank holiday monday just gone, which ended up being my longest ever. This was taken at a banana and flapjack stop, somewhere between Edmondbuyers and Parkhead, not far from Derwent Reservoir on the edge of the North Pennines. Love it up there!

Some cool retro there Rich! Like the scooter and the Kawasaki 250 👍😁
Mine started with a beaten up FS1E shared with a mate then a DT125 (a bitsa deathtrap), after I came off 4 times in a short period I decided bikes and me weren't a great combination at the time and switched to 4 wheels (I was young, reckless, stupid).
Oooo......Everyone wanted a FS1E so bad in the early 80s! They were the dog's proverbial danglies for teenagers everywhere! Have you seen what a good example will fetch these days!

Paul

Some great photographs backed up with an informative narrative.

There are so many reasons for getting out into the countryside with health and mental well being the top two.

Spotted a Fizzy for sale at a classic car show last year, it looked like new (ours was very very beaten up) but was in the same burgundy colour as mine/my mates.. couldn't believe what he was asking for it (thought he was very optimistic or bonkers) until i went home and did a bit of research. 🙄😳
At 6'3"ish I think id look a little silly on one!

Thanks downer.

Yes, it's on for Sunday.

There are usually 3 pupils but they got in touch with me and have delayed my start from 9am until 11am for social distancing.

I'm wondering whether I might be in a group of one.
