Post a picture from your latest ride
Re: Post a picture from your latest ride
^^^ Nice. I have also been thinking of getting an "adventure" type helmet - on the basis they have a larger visor area and perhaps a bigger opening at the chin - making it potentially more airy to wear - and therefore, cooler?
What do you reckon?

Re: Post a picture from your latest ride
I was totally surprised as to how cooler my face and head felt.
The vents seemed to work better than those on my HJC IS-Max II.
The helmet is a Frank Thomas which is a brand acquired by J & S Motorcycles from whom I bought it.
I had my eye on a much more expensive helmet but the assistant suggested the FT which was a lot cheaper.
It seems remarkably well made and was £120.

Thanks, I'll look into it - although I need to wait a few weeks having splurged on a few bits and bobs recently - including a mesh jacket, which is great for warm days...scooter wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 7:50 pm I was totally surprised as to how cooler my face and head felt.

Can I ask what mesh jacket you plumped for?
I have been looking for one myself.

I tried a couple of different ones in J&S and then ordered one from Sportsbikeshop - but none of them were a good fit (all a bit short for my liking), so in the end I went a bit crazy and bought a Rukka:

Very nice.
I agree that the fit is all important.
That should last a biking lifetime.

About that, I reckon - although I usually end up on a detour or two - as that’s half the fun.scooter wrote:130 miler?

It was a great ride. What a lovely way to spend time - a mixture of fast sweeping A roads - many of them empty, and tight single tracks with plenty of hairpins. Two highlights:
Winnats Pass in the Hope Valley, Derbyshire. A beautiful place - and surely a rare picture with such a perfectly blue sky!

Somewhere on the A535 between Holmfirth and Stalybridge. A view to the North.

What a perfect sky in that first photo. Beautiful scenery too.
