Does that one have the nuVinci gear system?
Yes, it's got the Bosch performance line motor, big capacity battery & NuVinci continuous gear hub, so just a variable twist grip for gearing. Too easy really IMO.

I've got 4 levels of assist; Eco, Tour, Sport and the most battery draining being Turbo.

I try to stay in Eco and Tour whenever possible.

Although my back is shot my legs have always been fairly powerful.

I just like cycling if the truth was known.

And it is good for the ol’ ticker too. Me, I’m always on Boost (turbo) !

We might have castles but we sure ain't got no bison so kudos for that.

Some great photographs there, especially the one of the railway bridge.

I'm a little intrigued by your uniform. At first I thought that you were wearing a seat belt but I'm guessing it's a walky talky.

My other bike's a Trek.

The bison are amazing animals to see (reasonably) close up. Generally very docile creatures, but I hope I don't have a close encounter with one when riding. I'd hate to meet up with one who's having a bad day.
Indeed, I am wearing a radio. 2, actually. Makes for sore hips after an afternoon of riding around, but I can't complain when they pay me to ride a bike 8) . Some of our special events can be quite busy, some are 'just in case' standby events, and are good PR as much as anything else. It's a nice break from the regular. The Trek is a decent bike. Not mine, but one of our team bikes at work. Loaded down with about 30 pounds of gear, they can provide a good workout.

Managed to pass through three counties this morning - Cheshire, Staffordshire and Shropshire. This place seems to be becoming one of my regular stop-off points - Audlem Wharf next to the Shroppy Fly...

We don't go to Audlem as often as we once did, but it's a nice place and the annual fireworks event was always worth a watch.

Funny thing is, I've just been looking at Google street (canal) view and found my father in law sitting on the wall at the Shroppy Fly! How mad is that?
They live on a boat and often moor up in Audlem, Market Drayton and Calveley and do like to monitor the local hospitality.

It is a strange thing to find yourself on someone you know on Google Street View. My partner and I were driving at work one day, and passed the Google Street View car. Fast forward a number of months, and there we are on the internet.
As an aside, if you look in the bottom right of the Street View photo, you can see the year and month the photo was captured.

Yes it's weird and has been discussed quite a bit today.

They remember the day (in 2013) as it was a guy with a backpack and a woman carrying multiple batteries and he got talking, but never thought to mention it or check. Their boat is also further up the canal, with a wine carrier on display...nothing changes!

We also passed an Apple Maps car van thingy on Saturday afternoon, presumably doing something similar. Need to check the Thelwall viaduct on the M6 in a few months time.

A 2 lap trip around Burrator reservoir (7 or 8 miles) today, after hiding under a tree for 20minutes when the heavens opened literally 200 metres from the car.

Went to Rutland Water today with the kids.
Missed all the bad weather and had a great ride round (17miles). Can't believe how many electrically assisted bikes were going around.

^^^ My Dad and my 12 year old niece both have electric bikes. It's a sore subject. My Dad is 70 so he's excused but the 12 year old has a perfectly good mountain bike that she refuses to ride and pinches my Mum's electric bike instead. She then has the cheek to complain I slow her down on the uphill sections but when I look over she's on the "H" (high power) setting.

Doing her no favours at all.

Hmmm there's no need for that.
The little one (7) did the whole trip stuck in 6th (top gear) so massive kudos to him . The 9 year old whinged despite having all his gears available.
