Weather looks significantly better. Hope it's good for you today, as well, Richard.

We need to know though which watch you're wearing for the week. I don't anticipate you've taken more than one.

If you have a motorcycle this is a highly recommended route. If you don’t have one, get one.
I’m not a motorcyclist but this looks like a great route in a little sports car, either modern (eg, Mazda MX5) or classic (eg, Triumph TR6). What do you think?

It would be good in a small car, although not as good as a bike.Image

Some of the route is single track with passing places. On a bike it’s usually easy to maintain momentum, but in a car I guess you’d need to stop and wait more frequently.

Down through Glencoe today then headed east to skirt Edinburgh and into the borders, with another favourite road between Biggar and Moffat, before jumping on the A74 down towards Penrith(ish) for the final night.

Great weather in the main. Image

Having driven some of the roads that @downer is on, an MX-5 may be okay, Caterham 7 much better (there's a Company you can hire the 7s from to do the NC500) but I'll advocate a TR6 is too low slung and 'ponderous', I owned one back in the mid 70s.

Something like a Yaris GR would be ideal. :D :D

Final day today - returning to Cheshire from the Lakes. Remarkable weather again!

Almost 1100 miles in 5 days. It's been a great tour. The good news is - I'm not planning to post any more pics after these! :)

Beautiful evening today and other than a startlingly low sun at times a great couple of hours out on the velocipede.

^^^ I cannot believe the condition of your bike!

Makes me a bit ashamed of mine. But not enough to make me clean it. :)

Haha- Not being used enough... that's that shame!* But I do like having a bike ready to roll for the occasions when the planets align and have not not had a bike in the garage for the last 37 years :D

*Oh- and being really really picky about keeping it clean!
