Out on IAM observation duties this morning. Fortunately, the fuel crisis has abated in this part of England. No queues at the fuel station here...
Spent a couple of hours on this Monster this afternoon, whilst my Multi was having some stuff added to it...
Lovely bike, very "immediate" in terms of power delivery, handling etc and obviously smaller and lighter than the bikes I normally ride. However, not a bike I'd buy as the ride is quite unforgiving and over longer distances I'm pretty sure my knees would be complaining.

Don't see many of these nowadays................Hop gardens!
The East Kent village I grew up in was surrounded by Apple orchards and Hop gardens, there are virtually none of either nowadays. Increasingly the south facing slopes of the North Downs are being turned over to vineyards! Chalky soil plus climate change in action I suppose.
I love the smell when riding around at this time of year and the hops are being picked, My primary school was directly opposite a hop drying kiln with tractors and trailers piled high with hops going backwards and forwards all day. Such an evocative smell.
Not sure how I missed this. Lovely old GS thou! About '79/'80? One of the original superbikes. Any foibles keeping the old girl running with unleaded and E10?

Putting some miles on the monkey this year Scooter- great to see! Lovely day for a rideout- unfortunately I let other nonsense get in the way- feeling a little jealous!

Thanks Rich
Monkey bought Mid April 2019 and has just done 7679 miles with 3000 of those travelled this year.
It was a lovely afternoon and I was just about to go out on The Focus when I said to myself... Get The Monkey Out.

It was first registered in May 1980, I bought one (not this one) exactly the same colour brand new in June 1980. I picked this one up in boxes about 10 years ago and spent a couple of years restoring it. Lovely old thing that unlike some classics you could use every day if you were so inclined
Japanese bikes have been designed to run on unleaded since the early 70's. As for E10 I just put "Super" E5 in all my bikes now and don't leave it in there for extended periods.
A nice alternative to these other two.

^^ Wonderful!! From the Norton to the XR1000. I'm pretty sure that transitioning between pedal operations from a classic Brit to a modern bike would very quickly deposit me in a hedge- much respect! That's a garage to be proud of!
