Re: Pics from the walkers
Just back from a week in West Sussex, mainly family activities but managed a couple of walks to clear my head. These 2 sunsets from Pagham were a few mins apart as the sun descended.

Re: Pics from the walkers
I cycled/hiked 10 days ago to Meradalir to witness the most recent volcanic eruption in Iceland. I am glad I went when I did since it is now already over. Here are a few pictures from that day.

Ebels are a lot like women that lack a lowcut dress that zips up the side..neither gets the love that they deserve..
Re: Pics from the walkers
^^^^ thanks, I am lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world. To take that photo just I came out of my house and walked across the road.

A few from a recent trip to Ballachulish and Glencoe.
Although not the highest of mountains, the Pap of Glencoe is at the end of a long ridge and overlooks, both Ballachulish and Glencoe villages. Are we nearly there yet… Almost… Views from the summit… Neil

Re: Pics from the walkers
^^^ Thanks scooter. We had often driven through the area, on our way to the Isle of Skye, but never stayed.
Like many places, you only realise the history of the area when you stay.
The now closed, Ballachulish slate quarry, founded in 1692, was a major employer. The various information boards in the village give a snapshot of the time. Reminds one that fighting for workers rights is nothing new.
The slate made its way down to the harbour on rails. This arch, part of the route the slate took, still remains. The carriages went on top of, not through the arch. It was quite atmospheric sitting quietly by the monument to the Glencoe massacre of 1692. Neil

Re: Pics from the walkers
September in Greece is really beautiful. I’ve been out walking this week with a lady I first met in Cyprus a few years ago on a Christmas holiday. We have been walking into the hills above the resort and today we found a beautiful little monastery, though sadly the church was closed.

Re: Pics from the walkers
A stroll around Fuengirola yesterday, along the Promenade and up into the old town interspersed with a couple of stops for coffee.

Re: Pics from the walkers
A few from a recent trip to the Lake District.
First port of call, the pointy one on the left. Hope that I am wrong, but from the farm equipment laid out in the field and the number of people that were in the farmyard, it looked to me like the farmer was selling off equipment.
Most of the youngsters having a go at Ghyll scrambling looked to be enjoying themselves. Almost there. Mrs nbg (“I really don’t want my picture taken at the moment”) approaching the top. View from the summit towards the next fell. A well worn zig zag path to a fell top, although from the feint path on the right it is clear that some don’t understand about keeping to paths to reduce further erosion.
A disused mine.
I enjoy how it is sometimes possible to see two lakes, from the same top. Bassenthwaite on the left.
Derwentwater on the right.
The heather would have been more colourful a few months ago.
I have no idea why the sheep thought that walking down the path in front of us, rather than moving on to the grass, was the best way to avoid us.
Neil
