Does any one know anything about old Land Rovers? I'm trying to get some info on a rare one.

depends what info you want - there is a good source of information at Gaydon - in the museum where you can see build records - the series 2 club is a very useful source of information... I have a 2a (have had a 1 / 2 at other times) - I used to own the rarest landrover in the world - the only Diesel LWB stationwagon series 2 (rarity was in it being a diesel which wasn't very exciting - only 4 built and only 1 left!)

I bet that was a lively beast. I had an 86" series 1 2 litre diesel, which they only used for about 6 months before introducing the 2.25 engines. I have a fondness for the series 2 models though. My first ever Landy was an ex RAF 1960 88" 2.25 petrol. The bug bit and it just went from there. I've owned most models over the years, but I am Land Rover-less currently.
