New watch - have a guess

Post by missF »

So since Neil @nbg has incoming arriving tomorrow, I think I need to admit that I have a watch arriving tomorrow too .....

I'm almost ready to post my endgame SOTC (C11 is currently being serviced). But there is one last niggling problem with the tiny collection. Actually it's really a big problem. It's the bucket of 20mm straps that I love that don't any more have a watch to use them on  (I love the Moonglow on mesh)

So that's my clue - I bought a strap monster. (Monster is not a clue).....

Happy guessing

Blimey Lindsey, not much to go on here. A strap monster with 20mm lugs?

You’ve not re-bought the IWC pilot have you? Or maybe a sealander?

Hmmmmmm, that's true - I haven't given very much away

It's not an IWC pilot (lovely as they are), and it's not a Sealander. It's very affordable, which is why it was easy to click on today.

Not Smiths. But is is a UK company.

I owned one of these watches a long time ago - a white dial - but since it wasn't the best white dial bracelet watch in the world I had to let it go and keep searching. This time it's a black dial.

Is it an Elliot Brown from the sale that Guy mentioned in the bargain hunters thread?

 :D

It is.
The Kimmeridge, with black dial, 12,3,6,9 markers, 20mm lugs. Tough as nails.

I don't often look at the Bargain Hunter's thread, and I haven't trawled the forum for 'inspiration'' for a long time, but it's a perfect solution to the serious problem of what to do with lots of 20mm watch straps.

I'm really pretty excited to add this one :D

And it's got similar styling to its big brother, the C11

That's brilliant, Lindsey.

I bought my then girlfriend, now partner, a blue dial Kimmeridge around five years ago.

She wears it daily, and it's now quite battered due to the work she does, but it keeps on ticking.

She got a few nice watches, including your old gold Bulova, but it's the Kimmeridge that gets the daily wear.

A rare pic of it;-

@Bahnstormer_vRS
Guy, I remember that your partner wears a Kimmeridge, and it's good to hear that it's a battered and (almost) daily wear

Cheers, Lindsey.

Photo taken today, the one above is nearly five years ago.

That's brilliant Guy - a properly worn Kimmeridge.
Here's mine just out of the box looking very shiny (I really love it!)
