Isn't that your local coffee shop? :wink: :wink:

Yes it absolutely could be. But I don’t feel fully settled somewhere that there are unwritten rules about how long you should stay before you should buy another coffee...

Years back I used to go to the pub next to where I lived late afternoon when it was quieter and have a glass of wine and do some writing. The staff were so welcoming and the manageress even set me up a table in a cosy nook so that I didn’t get disturbed by passing punters. I wasn’t very well at the time but I had a routine and a welcoming place to go. :D

I think the key requirement for a hobby is interest, and you say you have it. You need do nothing more than take snaps on your phone to pursue photography as a hobby.

The only additional ingredient is intent, as in going out with the intent to make images. There are a whole lot of “…of the day” groups on various social media. You typically get a list of subjects for a photo for each day. One makes an image, shares it to whatever social media it is, and tags the photo. It’s a great way to find a supportive community and give you a specific purpose with your images. And the simple fact is that regular activity improves one’s skills.

Have you considered building speakers and amplifiers? I think we’ve got a thread going on that. :lol:

@missF

A pack of decent playing cards and YouTube is all you need to practice some card magic.
If you don't like it, just forget the magic and play patience instead.

Now this intrigues me. To be honest I’m not sure I have the focus or concentration for this any more but the reason I’m interested is that I’m a right fidget with my hands and I like focussing down on my hands while I write or do something intricate. I should have been a surgeon...

^^^^ Focussing on your hands?

Have you thought of Knitting?

Therapeutic, creative and easy to do for a short while, pause and pick up on it later.

Just don't let Neo play with the balls of wool; at least until you knitted them into a cuddly toy for him.

@Bahnstormer_vRS - yes, I reckon it’s knitting or crochet for me for the winter. I can start by crocheting granny squares then turn them into granny blankets. :thumbup:
