Had about 8 BMC Minis, best being the later Coopers.

Bought A GP - but sold it immediately as my wife hated it then replaced it with the RED car! Then sold it for a Focus ST3 which we did keep.

Both fabulous ^^^ :)
Loving the GP, always wanted one but never sadly got one even though I'm on the GP UK Owners Club.
I currently have a Laser Blue version of the Cooper S in your second photo.

Just read this thread for the first time..

On old stuff - I never had a mini, but we did have a Riley Elf in a disgusting mushroom colour. Great value for money as it had the cooper gear change and load of wood on the dash and wooden pull down picnic trays in the back (!!!)

Those 10" wheels were a nuisance though. I had some M&S winter tyres one year, and on the way to the train one morning, I flicked out to over take a queue of mimsers when the roads were wet and slushy. All went well on the overtake until the car just suddenly lost power and got slower and slower....

Straddling the slush in the middle of the road, the poor little car was trying to snowplough it up; and in the end, I had to really work hard to climb back over the heap and get back on my side of the road!

Before that, I had a Morris Minor. It ended up at about 1200cc, with a Shorrocks C75B supercharger. Didn't stop that well, I tried the bigger (drum) brakes off the Riley 1.5, and eventually Marina discs.
There's always time for one more.

I've never driven an automatic MINI JAG mate so I couldn't say but I have driven a Golf GTI with a DSG gearbox and I was very very impressed.

Done that......you feel a plonker, don't you? I was in an aggressive looking white Manta at the time and someone applauded. I was bright red......

That brings back memories of when I owned my '68 Wolseley Hornet which was slightly less plush than the Riley Elf, less wood etc but it had a very cool lit up Wolseley grille badge !! :)
I had mine for 7 years, 998cc to 1275cc then 1400cc :)

Stefs - Nice All4 - I have a Pacemen All4 in red.

Berkshire - I am 6' 2" and it has loads of room (they are waaay bigger than the old BMC Mini's - I know I had one of those as well in the mid 70's).

I'm also 6' 2" but my restriction are my leg splints hence the frustration. At least I can call upon lots of 'mini' memories. :D

Richard, will your bespoke ones allow more articulation when they arrive?
