My mate has a Cooper S convertible (wife's car) and he thinks its insane fun, especially with the top down
Should have said, same as I have already - Cooper 1.5 Petrol 3 cylinder turbo.
Great engine.
I'd love the Cooper S which is a 2.0 4 cylinder turbo but firstly they don't have any and I can get this one fairly right.

Well it all worked yesterday :)
After a month or so of haggling and perceverance I finally traded in my much loved Volcanic Orange Cooper hatch for a gorgeous Pepper White Cooper Convertible :)
It's a launch car so a huge spec loaded with goodies !
One plate newer and only 8,400 km's on the clock and only driven by my saleswoman.
Saved over €13,000 Euro on list.
Collected it yesterday evening as I couldn't wait to get it.
Top down since I collected and we drove to Cobh to meet up with close friends in the Mini Club.
A Very happy Ferg !ImageImage

That looks very nice Ferg, keep that roof down while you can as being Ireland the rain will not be that far away, electric or manual roof?

Looks awesome Ferg, I love the contrast of the black wheels hood and bonnet stripes against the white. Lots of topless fun ahead!

Congratulations Ferg. Everyone ought to have a convertible at some stage in their lives.

You 'old' MINI looks in immaculate condition, bet they were able to put it straight on the forecourt.

Enjoy.

Just to add to this thread this is the little pocket rocket I purchased for a bit of fun.

It was only after I purchased it thinking it was a standard Cooper S that I found out it had several upgrades and was running around 220bhp so around 50 over the standard.

There is a gauge to tell you how long you have the roof down for since you bought it, it will be used a lot !

It's a fully electric roof Kevin 8)

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments.

Loving the white convertible Ferg, looks great - and yes, it makes your otherwise great Orange one look a little 'ordinary'. Hope you enjoy it.

Also liking the grey Rocket, Kevin. Great move!

Liking the white with black trim Ferg. Both of our current cars are white with black trim, as have been three of my previous cars. It's undoubtedly my favourite colour scheme.

Not that I don't like yours though Kevin, my last car was metallic grey as well (by choice), so I rather like yours as well. 220hp, that's 165kw in the new money, in a Mini. It's got to be a bit of a rocket!

Both are great looking cars.

The grey is the exact spec that I would look for in a pre-owned and I love the idea of it having been upgraded to 220bhp - any idea what the upgrade consisted of?

I'm not usually impressed by white cars but the combination with the black trim and wheels make that 1 look fantastic and a convertible as well, great for summer and sunny winter days. Such a bargain as well.

I love the idea of zooming around in a nippy Mini but not sure if I could cope with a smaller car - I must get out to test drive a Cooper S this summer so I can keep it on the list or strike it off.
