I am about to broadside the new mini.. Having owned an r53 cooper s and still own a r56 cooper d I have loved every minute of ownership... I even kept my mini when they released the paceman and vomited all over my laptop.. Never in my life had a god awful creation such as this offended me as much as a San yong korando.. First the fat kid came, the countryman... And then the paceman which is like a fat kid in a crop top and prohibitively tight pants it's still a fat kid but less practical..
Anyway they are losing too much of the essence that made the other two special in my eyes, it's too fat too big and a step too far

But seriously the other two are super looking machines the r56 especially but my good god what's going on at the minute.. No mini no.. It's all wrong! It's the headlights that offend me most I think.
However the wife likes it and she wants to replace the r56 with one... Whoopee, I will have to wear a balaclava whilst driving it

And I agree with you mostly.
No doubt the nicest looking New MINI is the R50/53, the R56 was a grower and took time to mature, it's now a fabulous looking car.
I'm hoping that the F56 will be a grower too.......I didn't like it all at the start, I'm getting there with it though but it's a very very slow process....
