Meds Kip....it's a car this time !
The wife and my 10 year old son went for a walk yesterday, and happened to go past the local garage forecourt, and one of my dream cars is there (MX5) (yes i know they are not that grail-like for some, but thank god we are all different !)
£5k asking price, my son looks at the sales sheet, and says to the boss (wife) it's only got 58k on the clock, it's in good condition, has a hard top, and Dad has always wanted one of these !
This morning the wife says to me, we need to live a little more, and enjoy some of our savings, you can have it if you want !
Well strike me down with a feather duster.......
She's done it now, In my mind the garage is tided up so it will get in, and I have been looking at the bay etc... to compare prices...........and found an even nicer one in Black, half the miles, in better condition, and only £6.5k !......and I'm going to look at it on Tuesday !!!!!........

MX5s are fantastic cars. Most fun car I've ever driven, I think.

Fantastic car. I have a well-loved 1991 that sees summer duty. Possibly the most fun you can have while observing speed limits. Huge aftermarket if you want to do anything to customize yours. The hardtop is a nice bonus.

Great cars Jimbo
These are mine. The one on the left was my Mark 2, traded in for my Mark 3 on the right.
At this point in time they both carried my personal plate.
Enjoy yours mate
To all...no, I'm not a frigging hairdresser.

Yep. We had one for a very short time several years ago. Great fun, and quite practical.
Go for it!

Excellent!
When they were designing the MX5, Mazda bought a classic 1960s 2-seat Lotus Elan and set out to create a modern version which drove and handled as well yet didn't break down every 200 miles*
(yes, I recognise that might seem optimistic, but I've got a 1968 Elan +2 and I can attest that it's a fair estimate...)

It's not you being a hairdresser that worries me - it's the 666 on your personal number platescooter wrote:Great cars Jimbo

Never driven or owned one but its on my hitlist and I dont care what people will say including my mates...if I ever do get one then im sure the hairdresser jokes will be flying at me.By all accounts, very fun cars, excellent handling and bulletproof...though the temptation to lower it and add a few 'choice' mods may take over

Every time I drive an MX5, it reminds me of what a sports car should be like. You will love it. Charismatic, styllish fun. Sod the hairdresser quips - mostly originating from the uninformed who have never driven one. I haqd the same for 2 years with a Boxster and didn't give a sh*t because it drove so well.
