Booked in👍
Enjoyed last week's event.
Great to have a show 'up North'.
CW watch count - enough to keep me very happy, but always room for more!

I've taken a leap and registered. Subject to:

- Booking a flight across the Atlantic;
- Arranging a day trip to Manchester from London; and
- Obtaining permission from Mrs TB for all of the above (no doubt with some form of gift-related compensation),
I will be there!

I did notice that I just got an email PDF "ticket" which says "Register interest" for GBP 0.00. Given there was a ticketing fee in 2024, it's not quite clear to me whether there's no longer a fee and this is the actual ticket, or whether this is just a pre-registration to enable early ticket access. I'm sure all will become clear in good time.
I post a few watch pictures now and then to a little Instagram account - 16 followers and counting!

I’m sure introducing her to several of us from the forum will be a gift in itself…….

@timepieces_and_bags Did I read that correct? You're planning on flying across an ocean to attend a watch fair...in Manchester? Err...even by this crazy pastimes overzealous behaviour that sends you to the top of the class. A* to you sir!

Seriously, I wish you well with your endeavour. Would it be prying to ask where you live? And btw, bring a brolly, it rains a lot in Manchester.

Sad that I couldn't make it this year - I'm registered (in hope again) for next year.
When I saw the British brands at the Edinburgh RedBar event last year it was Isotope who really caught my eye. They were in the middle of prototyping their first chronograph (with a Subdial setup that's novel to the industry and now patented). Since then they've produced a gorgeous dress watch with a convex mirrored dial (that all the Swiss dial manufacturers they approached told them 'couldn't be done.').

The Hydrium case was four years in development and has provided a canvas for all sorts of creativity.

So when I saw @iain 's wrist shot of the Hydrium NSFW (the purple one), I knew that I'd have been trying that one on too had I made it to Manchester.

Erm, and here it is

Basically I love the 'playfulness' of this watch that doesn't have to involve having jigsaw pieces or Teddy bears or balloons or food on the dial..... 8-[
And purple? I don't need to explain why I'm wearing a purple watch any more. Hence I chose a purple watch.....

 Probably not quite as strange as it sounds Des. I get back to the UK to see family, take some work meetings etc. about 3-4 times a year, and I tend to take the opportunity to do that around other events going on. Probably taking the train from London to Manchester is the biggest mental hurdle!

^^^ People travel some considerable distance to watch a 90 minute game of football, so perhaps not so strange. And, yes, some of these people travel to Manchester too :D
