List Your Collection

Post by President »

I couldn't find a similar thread on this forum, sorry if there is.

It's probably not a good idea to post pictures, we don't want to burn modems.

In order of acquisition (to the best of my recollection):

Tissot PR50 Quartz
Christopher Ward C5SSS No. 552
Steinhart GMT-Ocean 1
Buren Automatic with Date (Antique)
Christopher Ward C5AKS No. 436
Christopher Ward C5GWG

I think I listed mine somewhere else but no harm in doing it again. This time in order of purchase and a bit of background re usage:

Trazer H3 (not really part of collection, use for the outdoors part of my job and training)
Tag heur classic Carrera chrono - black face, 39mm, white edged sub dials and black croc strap (selling soon)
IWC spitfire chrono - silver face and subdials, 42mm, brown croc strap (wear it down to the pub etc)
CW C3 black face, SS bracelet (use for office based part of my job)
CW C5, silver face, black croco strap (use mainly as dress watch)
Longines Hydroconquest, auto version, 41mm, black face (recent purchase, use it same as spitfire, occasionaly at work and intend to take it away on hols, perfect for swimming in with no worries :) )

Next purchase hopefully a Ball, not sure of which model yet though as they all look great. Also will be holding out for an auto LE C2...hopefully :)

My collection:

1. CW C5SSTR
2. Zepplin, Captains Collection, ETA 2824. This is a German made watch just before my C5.

OK, so I'm a beginner!

Impressive collection there Kip, well done :D

Here's my current collection:

CW C4IP4 - A stunning looking timepiece, commented on by a lot of people so far
CW C6IPSI - I like it, but not convinced by the rubber strap, will see lots of dive time if its up to the job
Omega Seamaster Quartz - Its 21yrs old, is two toned with a square face and very rare
Omega 18ct Constellation - My 21st present, gorgeous watch but not worn enough
Omega Seamaster Quartz - 120m Divers, all black and very thin but showing its age
Seiko Titanium Chronograph Quartz - a good knockabout watch
Seiko Automatic Divers - Sadly given up the ghost, but over 10yrs old when it did and lots of underwater time
Update 3 Apr - Breitling Superocean (blue face) - Stunning watch

And I think another CW or two might also join the list in the near future!!!
The CW Collection: Now well used C6IPSI (#2)
C4IP4 (#1331)
C6 Forum LE (#64) -Sold to Tikkathree
C6SWS (#761)
Non-CW: A Breitling, 3x Omega, 1xMido, that now (13y) more ancient Raymond Weil and a Dead Seiko I can't part with (32yrs+)

Oddly enough, only a few years. I have always had a fascination with timepieces since my Grandfather first gave me his Hamilton pocket watch when I was twelve. He worked for the Canadian National Railway for 53 years. It was a watch he was very proud of and has a lot of history with him. I am honored to have it and hope my son will be also someday. But I digress, I wish I had kept a couple of the watches I had as a kid but frankly, it never dawned on me. I am now in a position to keep and appreciate what timepieces I like so away I go. I am just as interested now in vintage as well as new.

Kip, could you put those pockets up, please? Those photos would make a pleasing change, esp the movements... UB
